About this listen
Laura Willard has a problem. Her father is marrying her off to the highest bidder for his personal gain, and she detests the man he has selected. Edgar Cochran is pompous, coldhearted, and a snob. She cannot let her father sentence her for life with such a man—even if it means getting cast out penniless. Then she hears of a possible solution—a mail-order bride agency matching men from the Wild West with women from the East. Can this be how she escapes her father’s dictatorship?
Ryan Bastion has a problem. He owns a large ranch requiring his attention, and he is a young widower with a six-month-old son. He still loves his late wife and doesn’t want a relationship with any other woman. How could he care for a baby and keep his ranch running at the same time? Impossible. Then he hears about a mail-order bride agency. Maybe this is his answer.
She is a pampered socialite from Boston who doesn’t even know how to make coffee. He is a grieving widower who doesn’t see any other solution to his problem. Can this possibly be a good solution for either one of them?

I loved the narration of Kathleen Strecker, made this a great listen.
Laura is a socialite , finds herself fleeing from an arranged marriage. She becomes a mail order bride, but knows nothing about running a house.

Heartwarming Romance Novella
This was my first book by this author and what a bundle of brightness and light 'The Bride's arrangement' was. I always enjoy appreciating further the varied circumstances that led a woman of that era to make a decision to leave everything that was familiar to her and everyone she loved to pursue life with a stranger in a completely new world. This story does not disappoint with the interesting backstory and heartfelt adventure. This is a Novella of just under two hours listening and a lot of content was covered to bring the story to a satisfying juncture. I was however left with a yearning to know more about this couple and their newly created family. Perhaps in further novels in the series we will get glimpses or perhaps Susannah will bless us with a Thanksgiving story or similar that updates us about each of the couples.
This was also my first time listening to Kathleen Strecker's narration and it is not exaggerating at all to say every aspect of the narration - the pace, atmosphere and characters is everything I hope for in an audiobook. I look forward to further listening experiences with Kathleen.
