Summary

In the milky mountains, upon the lofty summit known as Altar Peak, stand the spacious and somber ruins of a monastery once famous as the ARK. Traditions would link it with an antiquity so hoary as the Flood. Numerous legends have been woven about the Ark, but the one most current on the tongues of local mountaineers among whom I chanced to spend a certain summer in the shade of Altar Peak is the following: Many years after the great Deluge, Noah and his family, and his family’s increase, drifted into the Milky Mountains, where they found fertile valleys, abundant streams, and a most equable climate. There they decided to settle.

Review

I enjoyed the book. It is about promoting understanding and being s 'better' human. However, It is not easy to understand. The language and ideas are complex. The book is probably more suited to reading rather than an audio book.

Love the book

Nice to hear it from a familiar voice. Upload more books here. My memories:
- “Your word shall seek and surely find some ear. Ask not whose ear it is. See only that the word itself be a true messenger of Freedom”
- “Set a beacon aloft and go not about calling men to see it. Those who are in need of light need
no invitation to light.”
- “Dark passions breed and prosper in the dark. Allow them the freedom of light if you would
decrease their brood.”
- “True Freedom is won and lost in the heart.”

Wonderful, speaks to the seed in the heart

I read it in paperback format a few years ago, but needed to re-read. I believe re-reading it a few times is a must for this book. It makes you remember things you always knew but have forgotten since birth(s).

The narration is good, not too fast paced, so you can also "read" between the words.

Disappointed

The book starts with potential but loses its magic. It felt too much like being preached to.
I will add that I didn’t finish it
