Sparkles then gradually fizzes out.
Firstly I did like this book and yes it did fill some other wise boring hours but on the whole it was nothing special. A few years ago I watched a film ( parody of slasher movies) where a beautiful, busty woman was being chased by an axe welding maniac. She comes across a signpost which says to the left safety, friends cops etc and to the right sudden painful death. So of course she chooses to go right. This book reminded me of that film. I found myself constantly saying don't do that!
3 smart woman go to the back of beyond for a fourths birthday celebrations and then proceed to do predictable stupid things. Okay it does have some little suspenseful moments but I did see the twists and sussed out the bad egg early on .
Narration was good. Bought as a BOGOF.

Loved it!
A truly nasty listen with cunning twists and turns. The characters are all nasty too I didn't like any of them.
Makes for a very interesting read. Narrator did an extremely good job, but the male voices could use more work.
This book is definitely one I would recommend.

a good story.
why do authors insist on using the objectional F word. It spoils the story. otherwise a good yarn.

Intriguing and Twisty
At times i wondered where the story was going and struggled with it but then it would gain interest and direction.
Iworked out the end around the last 2 chapters.
In general a good story

The Birthday Girl
I bought this as one of the regular 2for1 offers. It was a gripping listen, but what I would say was that none of the main characters was pleasant and that can make it difficult for the listener/reader to fully empathise.
The narrator managed a dispatare series of accents with aplomb, especially the Scottish ones. She did, however, make Andrea sound like Anne Robinson, which made me dislike the spiky character even more!
