Critic reviews

“Steve Taylor’s inspiring contribution in the field of consciousness and spirituality continues with The Adventure. I warmly recommend both Steve and this book, his most practical to date, to anyone wishing to discover true happiness and uncover the awareness of being.” — Rupert Spira, author of You Are the Happiness You Seek

The Adventure is a brilliantly clear and pragmatic guide to spiritual awakening, expertly written by Steve Taylor, a transpersonal psychologist who has spent decades researching the characteristics of life-changing awakenings. If you’re ready to drop the heavy baggage of the past and future and enter the sublime freedom of the Now, this wonderful book is your ticket to transformation.” — Mike Kewley, author of The Treasure House: Discovering Enlightenment Exactly Where You Are

“This is such a warm book. It’s like sitting down with a wise friend who can lead you step-by-step to remember the qualities of who you are and how to bring them into the foreground of your experience. A beautiful book for anyone looking for practical ways to experience the feeling of their awakened, present being.” — Helen Amery, awakening guide and coauthor of The Complete Book of Awakening

Beautiful Guide to Waking Up

This is a well needed gentle guide to waking up that will help anyone who’s curious about what it means to wake up. There’s some wonderful meditations too to help you connect with your awareness and explore from there what it can feel like to be awake.

Difficult to listen to

Overall, sound pragmatic structured advice and wisdom, but delivered by what I can only describe as a borderline AI generated vocal which seemed to suck the authenticity out of the narration and lived experience of the author. No disrespect to the guy given the job of reading it but for me it was as if the narrator had no interest or experience of the subject matter, which is a shame because having now caught a clip or two of the author speaking in his natural regional accent, I was left wondering why he didn't read it himself as it would have made for a completely different and better listening experience. Maybe buy the kindle and skip the audible on this one?
