About this listen

She doesn’t remember adding Armageddon to her birthday wish list....

The day Zoe turns eighteen, the gates of hell will open and Satan will escape his prison - unless Zoe can stop him.

Her plans to party with her friends and ogle cute guys are sidelined when her bestie reveals he's a Guardian Angel.

And the boy she’s been secretly crushing on? He’s a Nephilim. Both were sent to protect her from the army of demons dispatched to kill her.

The normal life Zoe loved is destroyed by an ancient prophecy that declares she will be the one to unite Angels, Nephilim, Fairies and Werewolves in an epic battle against evil.

Now, it’s time for Zoe to blow out the candles and make a wish, because if she can’t learn to control her new found talents, there will be Hell to pay....

Swords & Stilettos

This book is a paranormal YA romance. The FMC Zoe's life changes when she turns 18 years old. She has to try to save the world and is trying to fulfill the Prophecy. She finds out that her best friend is a guarding angel. The beginning was a little slow, but it picks up quickly. I really enjoyed the book once the action started. I would be interested in seeing where the book goes.

Concept is interesting

I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.

I really wanted to loved this book the concept of the book is very interesting however a concept isn’t always enough. The love triangle with a soulmate/instalove had no real tension and considering a great deal of the book is around the romance side I actually found myself a little bored rather than thinking my usual ‘aww’. Parts of the story were a little bit slow for my liking too and characters maybe not as developed as I would like. Saying that I absolutely adored Sidelle she is definitely a character that has been thought through and is really interesting. The plot was overall interesting so will definitely try the next one hopefully it’ll improve. I’m wondering if I should of had the ebook rather than audio but I found speeding up the audiobook made it a bit easier to enjoy as narrator was very lilting and made my mind wander at times.

AMAZING!!!!

I really wasn't sure if I would like this book, as it is not really my type of read, but I am so so glad that I did give it a listen.

The narrator was fantastic, and really engaged me in the storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her, and I was hooked from the start. I really came to love all the characters like they were my own friends, I mean c'mon, who wouldn't want friends like them?

The plot is so not my typical thing to listen to / read, but after listening to this I will definitely be listening to more from this author, this narrator, and genre.

Highly recommended!

OK

Any additional comments?

This is what I would call a typical YA book. It had all the ingredients of what I would expect in there: love triangle (which I hate!), teen angst, prophecy, the female teen didn't know about her background, guardian who falls in love with her, school, she has to save the world, training, etc.
There is nothing wrong with this but I tend to find this to be over used and at times boring because it is not original. This is not to say the book is bad but it is nothing either.

Others might like it a lot more then I did especially YA.

I thought the narrator was great, she voiced all the characters.
