Summary

For the first time ever, a survivor tells the shocking inside story of her time trapped in Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s alleged sex trafficking ring.

Sarah Ransome moved to New York at the age of 22 with hopes for a better life, an education, and a career in fashion. Her dreams were destroyed almost overnight when she met Jeffrey Epstein and was invited to an island paradise disguising her personal hell.

“By sharing my testimony…I hope to see both minds and laws changed. More than anything, I want to encourage a culture in which women, even if they haven’t led the perfect lives, even if they’re not proud of every one of their choices, still feel the right to stand in their truth.”

This story is her day in court.

Heartbreaking but so beautifully written.

A most moving listen. it would bring tears to one's eyes. Sarah has suffered so much trauma in life. I did wonder though, why she went back to Epstein after returning to Cape Town but that is not for any of us to judge. Thankfully she is a fighter. I wish her so much happiness for the future. She has a gift for writing and should consider another book. Her way with words is compelling. (Sarah stated Epsteins birthday was July but I always read it was January). I am definitely of the opinion that he was murdered. More investigations should have been done regarding this. Epstein also defrauded and stole over 460 million from old retirees with Hoffenberg (now in prison). Epstein was never charged. I also enjoyed the narration of this book. Thank you Sarah for telling your astounding story. Jacinta Duffy

Brutally Raw and Honest .

Sarah shared her story through her family’s generations of abuse and how she ended up trapped and repeatedly raped by Jeffrey Epstein and Gieselle Maxwell .

I thank her for her bravery and for proving you can have a voice against the rich and powerful.

Interesting, not salacious 👍🏻

I found the book interesting. Really appreciated the background and the making of a vulnerable person. Makes the predators even more evil, if possible, picking up these poor girls when there are genuinely desperate, at rock bottom. The narrator spoilt it for me though. Aggressive and staccato.

Outstandingly brilliant!

I was so touched by thus story. I am so touched at how strong the author is to have such horrific experiences throughout life yet she still stands so strong, one of the best books I've read.

I hear you Sarah…

I have so much respect for Sarah after reading this and feel protective of her. I cannot understand the bad review that I have read - or how a person could read this book and not feel compassion and respect. So eloquently written… I really hope that life treats her well in the future and that the perpetrators are held to account.

The account was powerful and enlightening. i usually listen to a book over a long period of time but this one i purchased yesterday and had finished it within 24 hours. i have a lot to think about and my understanding of survivors of rape and trafficking. Thank you for opening up so much into your hell.

Incredibly distressing

A story that is traumatic, and unbelievable but amazing to get down on to paper only for the fact that a lot of this maybe cathartic too.

The narration is very mono tone, and I would have chosen a better narrator. Story did get tedious at times as I did almost put it down on a number of occasions. I would say that it is an eye opener but not the best written.

narrator terrible

Ive decided to order this amazing book to read. Really admire the courageousnous of the author. However, the narrator is IMPOSSIBLE to listen to. Its sooooooo sharp and monotone.
There is no variation on intonation whatsoever!

6th form english essay

The writing style seems a bit stale and 6th form English essay-esque - So far! The narrator doesn’t help much either. Unemotional and sometimes Staccato in rhythm. A real shame and disappointing!
