About this listen
The month of May finds Charity trying out new hobbies and learning new customs. With Detective Sota insisting she learn to protect herself and a handful of customers itching to learn to sew clothing, she is up to her eyeballs in serape and all out of free time.
As if she doesn't have enough on her plate, the party planner cancels, and she finds herself in charge of the Cinco de Mayo festivities for the party she had scheduled at her store, Sassy Supplies Crafts & More.
Everything that could go wrong had, she told herself; nothing else could come up in one short week. Unfortunately, one little phone call proved that belief false.
Can she keep up with all of her regular obligations and investigate when Grampy's friend calls her for help, from a jail cell?

Plenty of suspects
I enjoyed this short cozy listen. Once again the author provides the listener with an entertaining and unusual mystery. When I think of cozy mysteries I think of murders getting solved by amateur sleuths, instead this author changes it up and and gives the listener another reason why a case might need investigating, in this case it theft. You still get the likeable down to earth heroine, with the hunky detective, whacky friends, and a mischievous cat making it a fun listen. There was plenty of suspects in this book and as each kept getting eliminated I had no clue who the thief was. The end was an unexpected surprise and I look forward to seeing where the series goes from here.
Somebody has stolen money from the police evidence locked and with Grampy's friend arrested for the thirty Charity finds herself getting talked into investigating. At the same time the towns party planner disappears leaving Charity in charge of planning the town's festivities. With the help from her friends and the Sassy Supplies Crafts customers can she find the time to make the party a success and question suspects? As alibi's and motives are checked things don't look good for her Grampy's friend.
I liked the narrator. She paints a very real picture of what Charity and her friends look like by using her voice and giving them there own voices at the same time.
