About this listen
Bill Tompkins was embedded in the world of secrecy as a teenager, when the navy took his personal ship models out of a Hollywood department store because they showed the classified locations of the radars and gun emplacements. He was present at the “Battle of LA”, when 1,430 rounds were fired at UFOs, and one of the Nordic craft selected him to be their rep in the evolving aerospace race. This book is a partial autobiography about his life to about 1970 including some of his early work for TRW. Selected by the navy prior to completing high school, he was the courier for secrets learned from navy spies about the Nazis until he was discharged in 1946.
After working at North American Aviation and Northrop, he was hired by Douglas Aircraft Company in 1950, and when they found out about his involvement in classified work, was given a job as a draftsman with a peripheral assignment to work in a “think tank”. It was controlled by the navy personnel who used to work for James Forrestal, who was allegedly assassinated because he was going to publicly reveal what he knew about UFOs. Bill Tompkins was asked to conceive sketches of mile-long naval interplanetary craft designs.
Later, as he became involved with the Apollo launch vehicle, his insight to systems engineering resulted in his offering some critical suggestions personally to Dr. Wehrner von Braun with more reliable checkout with missiles in their vertical position. This story is peppered with very personal interactions with his co-workers and secretaries, some of whom the he believes were Nordic aliens helping the “good guys” here on Earth. He sketches what he personally saw on TV when Armstrong was landing on the moon. Born in May 1923, Bill Tompkins is one of the few survivors of the “big war”, married to the same girl Mary, and was willing to tell his story about what he really did during his aerospace life in the '40s, '50s, and '60s that relate to aliens, NASA, and secrets that now can be told.

Tough one to swallow despite my knowledge & belief
Okay, first and foremost, half of this review is based on the torturous narration... David Godfrey has a perfect voice for a 30 second 1990's action movie trailer, but listening to him for more than that is beyond grating as he delivers every line with the same overly dramatic and sinister tone of a Hollywood villain.
Onto the book itself... Right, so, this man was designing 2km long anti-gravity space craft in the mid 1950s (just 7 years after Roswell) to protect humanity from multiple alien civilisations who were sat in space, poised to attack at any moment... well, 70+ years on from then and their patience must be wearing very thin by now.
I'm a true believer that we've been contacted and that there are indeed multiple species here already. I've been reading and researching this topic for over 40 years and have been able to piece a great deal of the puzzle together about what's really going on, but sadly, this all just sounds like complete fantasy from a couple of once young men whose labidos often seem to take precedence over the revelations as one 'excruciatingly beautiful woman' after another pass by their antiquated draft boards.
After 70+ years, you'd expect at least some of what he describes in here to have made it's way out into the public arena of acknowledged technology, but virtually none of the things he describes have seen the light of day, making it all the more fantastical.
I'd love to believe some of the stuff in here, but my rational grasp on reality is struggling to.

Disjointed and confusing
I saw an interview with Robert Wood who said when he read Bills manuscript it was confusing. Mr Wood has edited it and this is the result. In a few places I thought the recording had skipped because there was repetition. The narrative was disjointed and confusing, later in the story when talking about the secretary’s it took on a (confessions of) type of vibe. Some conversation text was overly technical and mainly used for exposition. I saw an interview with Bill where he talked about all this, and much much more. Search for the video interview rather than listen to this book.

Mind opening
Very interesting, mind opening and thought provoking, It could have been written a little more female friendly. Very misogynistic, even taking into account the clear control the woman ‘aliens’ had over men and the age of the author

Poor
I researched the writer who was highly credible, however, I thought the book was going to be factually but it was more of a story of his recollections since the late 40’s. There were some, blimey moments, but not many, I found most of it too far fetched because of the way the book was written, in actual fact it was boring, I can’t recommend it waste of money.
