The story:
Sanguinius is the Great Angel, most beloved of all the primarchs, his mighty exploits celebrated throughout the entire Imperium as the Crusade expands into the void. And yet the origins of his Legion are shrouded in mystery and rumour, his unique physical form is an enigma, and his perilous home world remains off-limits to all but his own secretive people.
When a discredited remembrancer arrives with the expeditionary fleets to chronicle the primarch’s deeds, he has to work hard to uncover the truth behind the legends. As he accompanies the \\IX Legion to war against the enemies of the Emperor, the curious scholar comes to learn much more than he expected – not just about the subjects of his study, but also the nature of the Imperium itself.

A first rate Primarch Novel
An excellent insight into Sanguinius and the Blood Angels. Wraight brings to life the lore in a sympathetic way that keeps you wanting to learn more just as the protagonist does. Keeble's performance is top notch as usual.

Ended 2 soon
would love to listen more about pre sanguinous era
revenant legions history. Also Sanguinous was kinda one dimensional in conversation.

Tragic, but not in the way I was expecting.
This book captures the dichotomy of the blood angels; their awful flaw and their admirable but doomed attempts to overcome it, in a way few others have. Samguinius is shown to be remarkably human, glorious not for his power or prestige, but for his kindness and integrity. This makes the culmination of the book, and what the imperium requires he become, to be even more awful and poinient. A true example of the idea of grim dark.
The righting is fantastic, the descriptions are evocative and insightful, and the voice acting superb!

Another Great One
Wraight’s stuff is always fantastic. Giving what was once just lore an interest emotional dimension. Any fans of the Horus Heresy should pick this up to see a traditionally heroic legion cross-examined.
Also always v funny when a narrator in a Black Library book is a writer.

I hate the female.
there is a female remembeancer I dont remember her name. But she is everything that is wrong with the imperium. She infuriates me. Poor sanguinius :( poor luprecal. Just retcon the entire story to be about luprecal not turning traitor plz
