About this listen

After losing her husband in a tragic accident, Julia Gentry is barely surviving. Raising her young daughter alone takes everything she has—and that’s not enough. She’s barely making ends meet.

And then tragedy strikes again.

Julia’s only hope lies in the last place she wants to look—in Crew Gentry. Her husband’s brother is broody. Irresponsible. He’s broken her heart more than once and let her down every time she’s needed him.

Until now.

Crew steps up, spotting an opportunity to atone for his sins. He’s determined to fix the disaster wrecking their lives. But the only way to make things right might require him to put more than his heart on the line.

He might have to sacrifice it all.

Simply Amazing

This book really put me through the wringer. So much heartache but absolutely worth it. Julia and Crewe are great, strong characters and Everly too. How much can one woman endure? Outstanding story and the voices totally fit the characters.

WOW emotional read

The story of the book is just so well written, Adriana you ripped my heart out but also put it back together.
Julie is a single mom struggling to look after her little girl Ever after her husband died in an accident. Crew is guilt ridden brother trying to look after both Julie and Ever after the death of his brother. Both these voice actors do an amazing job in telling the story.

The best things in life don’t come easy

I’m not a praying soul but this book had me sending a prayer out in the universe. It’s intense and provoked all the feels. I could hardly stand listening to the ending because it was so hard even though I knew it probably would be a happy one.

It’s a great second chance romance with a gripping story and it’s superbly performed by the narrators. It’s no sacrifice recommending it.

What a ride!

I had this book in my wish list but then I was lucky enough to be given a copy to read and wow it did not disappoint!
I got completely lost on the story and characters and devoured the book, all the way to the THE END in which I think I audibly gasped!!
The narrators did an amazing job of bring the story to life and I would certainly recommend

I think my eyes are leaking y’all!

Y’all I’m gonna have to log out and come back next year because I’m legit in tears and soo emotional right now, I just cannot function anymore! (Just kidding, I have more books on my tbr that needs to get read!). But seriously, this book! This book had me in tears!!! I literally cried like a baby reading this!

Crew my baby!!! I just cannot handle Crew’s sweetness and his sacrifice for his family. I also cannot the ending of this book! This book is appropriately named! Sacrifice indeed!

Now I know I’m not making any sense soo let’s back up and start from the beginning…

So, this book is about our mains Julia and Crew. Julia was previously married to Crew’s brother but is now widowed (but Crew and Julia actually have a lot more history than that). Julia is now a single mother to 5 yr old Everleigh, struggling with her day to day, bills, etc. She refuses help from Crew because she still blames him for a lot of stuff from their past. However, when tragedy strikes, she has nowhere else to turn to. Crew on the other hand, even with Julia’s constant rejection of his help with her finances and support, never turns his back on his niece and of Julia. So, when said tragedy strikes, it’s only natural for him to step up for his family.

At its core, this book is about fighting and sacrificing for the ones you love and doing everything in your power to make sure they are okay. This is a second chance romance where I could see where it all went wrong in the past, but also why they deserve to be together again!

They were both fighters in different ways. I loved seeing them slowly open up to each other. Especially seeing Julia open up her heart and forgive Crew for the past and realise he is not the same man from when they first met. I also loved seeing their little family! I honestly feel like I will be thinking about this book for a long time!

I listened to the audio version of this book. Narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell, both were great as Crew and Julia respectively. They brought the characters to life (and I’m sure contributed in me bawling my eyes out like a baby!) I highly recommend the audio of this book!

fight

Loved the dual narration of Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell, perfect for this great book.

This book is one roller coaster of emotions, guilt, loss, forgiveness, love.

Julia's life was not easy horrible parents. Let downs after let downs, until she finds happiness with Gage. But Gage is cruelly taken from her. Julia finds her self once more struggles, being a single parent. No matter what life throws at her she finds strength and determination.

Crew has always loved Julia but chasing his dream he lost her. He is a man full o guilt over the death of his brother, Gage. The brother who married Julia and the father of his niece Everleigh . Now he is in a fight he cannot loose . He knows this is the fight of his life and those now dependent on him winning.

Brilliant characters.

An Amazing & Exceptionally Moving Story & Listen🎧

Adriana Locke pens another amazing and beautifully written novel, one that not only captivates your attention the entire book but tugs on your heartstrings too. The characters and storylines are realistic, easy to relate to, connect with and care about. The complexity and layers of the story are fantastic and so is the world building and character growth and development. Crew Gentry lost his chance with Julia when she and his brother grew close and fell in love, but he knew he couldn’t lose her to a better man. But his screw up cost his brother his life, as at least that is how he feels and Julia feels the same. Life has not been easy for Julia after Gage’s death as a single mom to their daughter Everleigh, she struggles to make ends meet. And life is not done messing with her when another tragedy hits close to home. Crew looked out for them despite her not wanting anything to do with him, but now she has no choice but to accept his help and Crew will do whatever it takes to make sure they get the help they need, even if it is at his own expense. This is such a beautifully plotted and moving story, there are some heartrending and gut-wrenching moments and Adriana Locke put these characters thru the wringer but I appreciate how real she kept it. There is never a dull moment in this angsty, drama filled, heartfelt story and sometimes love is better the second time around, especially when they are not ready for each other the first time. Thank you for another amazing story and emotional roller coaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the exceptional narration, Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell’s performance enhances this already amazing story to another level. Their character voices and portrayal of the characters were spot on. They grasped every side of their personality and captured their every emotion and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Emotional and Heartfelt

Sacrifice is an emotional tale that gave me so much feels and I could not put down. Yes it was sad and heart-wrenching at times but it as also beautifully written, hopeful and was a story of love, loss, strength, sacrifice, hope and family. Its about how far one will go to atone for their sins and save their family. This story was not what I was expecting and there were some unexpected twists that all kept me at the edge of my seat. I fell in love with Crew right from the start and I absolutely adored the way he took care of Julia and Everleigh. Julia's strength shone through in more ways than one and I loved Everleigh's character.
There was a great cast of secondary characters who provided much support to the MC's and I loved that we got to know Gage through flashbacks from Julia and Crew's POV. This was a fantastic read and I would highly recommend it.

I listened to the Audible version of this novel which was narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell. They were both fantastic choices for these characters. They gave each character their on voice and emotion and really brought this heartfelt story to life. I loved listening to them narrate this novel.
