Summary

A delicious, sexy, laugh-out-loud modern romance about a newly single woman and her journey to find love again, from New York Times best-selling author Alice Clayton and debut author Nina Bocci.

Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She's left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer licking her wounds - and perhaps a gelato or two - with her best friend, Daisy. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Avery's thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she'd see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi.

Marcello was the man - the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and - hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello.

Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It's heady, it's fevered, it's wanton, and it's crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches?

A celebration of great friendship, passionate romance, and wonderful food, Roman Crazy is a lighthearted story of second chances and living life to the fullest.

I lost myself in Rome

Well. Guess who wants to go to Rome right now? Yep, me! I loved this book from start to finish, so well written and a beautiful story of second chances. The book is written in single POV, as we follow Avery as she goes to stay with her friend Daisy in Rome following a major 'indiscretion' from her husband. While in Rome she meets a past love, not just a past love, but her one true love (fate at its best). If I had the opportunity of having a love affair while abroad, I would want it to be with an Italian 'God' just like Marcello, oh that man is so swoon worthy. I adored all the characters, they all played their part meticulously in perfecting the story. While reconnecting with Marcello Avery also discovers so much about herself, she truly does 'find' herself. She does however meet a few minor problems on her journey of self discovery, leaving us with a perfect romantic read. Thoroughly enjoyable, I really did lose myself in Rome. Roll on book 2, I desperately hope it's Daisy's story.

Awesome

this is one of my favourite audible books. I listen to it every time I wish I was in Italy.....which is quite often.
