Summary

The truth of discovery is on mankind's horizon, a Red Horizon.

For nearly four long years, the world's superpowers have mobilized their people and resources in preparation for the next discovery, Mars.

The race against one another pales in comparison to the inherent dangers of travelling through the vastness of the cosmos, going where mankind has never gone before. Facing the hostile and challenging environment of space, and nations ready to do anything it takes to win, Richard, 'Rock' Crandon pulls his team together in an attempt to reach the alien technology on the red planet first, and discover the intent behind the alien species.

Will mankind tear itself apart in the name of discovery, or will the truth reveal something more sinister, the true intent of the aliens?

Gripping story nicely done

I'm enjoying this series. it's well read and rolls along at a good pace. The story segues well from the different major characters really well.

I've been kept on the edge of my seat all the way through wanting more when I stop.

I love how the author has shown the possible geo political outcome and fallout to the discovery that we are not alone in the universe might pan out. Have got the next installment. well worth it.

Good sci fi

An enjoyable listen, a bit more far fetched than the previous book but still scientifically plausible. The story felt like it could have been fleshed out more, perhaps into two books given the pacing, depth and detail you might expect after the first book but this isn’t much of a complaint since most of the time you hear this the other way around. Definitely left me wanting the next book though.

great story, great narration.

the story is well written and keeps you in the edge of your seat, finished with a cliff hanger so bring on the next chapter.
Mark Boyett is flawless as always.

Enjoyable Pulp

Engaging narrative, though a little slow to start. I did find the dialogue and interaction with the characters to be a little clunky and cliché. The writer has a habit of characters explaining stuff to each other that seems unlikely for the scenarios. However if you want a well constructed near future sci-fi that doesn't go too deep, this will be for you.
