Fabulously written and brilliantly narrated
Cato and Macro are up to their necks in trouble with political intrigue and treacherous officials. This book is so well written and narrated that it takes you back 2000 years and inserts you into the story. Brilliant five stars.

Never disappoints, drags you in, spins you round like clothes in a washing machine.
Brilliant writing, Brilliant narration, Brilliant plot.
Looking forward to the next installment

Exciting and thrilling as ever
Another exciting instalment of the Macro and Cato series sets them in Britannia against former friend and ally, Boudicca. This harks back to the original books, and the author finds a neat and believable way to extract other characters from the story, so we don’t worry about them. I was saddened by some losses as would have liked to see those characters develops further. Otherwise a thrilling story that keep me listening long into the early hours.

I was on my the was on the edge of my seat
I loved it I was literally biting my nails in fear, I was certain marco was done for but that tough bugger really is favoured by the gods and Kato always manages to use his brain I’m surprised he isn’t a general by now

Great historical fiction, outstanding narration.
I have both read and listened to the entire series of Cato and Macro. love it. The best part of the audio books is the stupendous narration by Jonathan Keeble. His voice range and variety is phenomenal.
