Summary

Mac had to be out of his mind.

Completely out of his ever-loving mind to even consider rooming with Gideon. The same guy he kissed during his freshman year who said he was straight. He's held Mac's mind hostage for the last two years after running out that one special night. Mac was a fan of social experiments, and this one was going to be a doozy.

Gideon doesn't sweat anything. He was always two lies ahead of everyone. A master at spinning rock solid alibis to protect the house of cards that was his life. To Browerton University, he's the popular guy getting over a breakup. To his family . . . the dutiful and responsible son. But rooming with Mac was bringing up old memories and forming new ones. First, a friendship develops, and then a late night infused with alcohol pushes them into uncharted, benefits-laden waters.

As their sexual experimentation continues, and the lies add up, both of them fight to withstand the feelings growing between them, feelings that could ruin their friendship and topple Gideon's house of cards for good.

Contains mature themes.

Very interesting story

I really enjoyed the book. It was somewhat different from what I have read before. There were homophobic people, family pressures of different religious backgrounds, denials, etc all in one book. It all created a very interesting book. The narrator was very good. The different accents and voices made the book even better.

such a touching story

this book had a little of everything and I read it in 1 hit, I don't normally like a book read by a narrator but the performance was perfect.
lots of issues were tackled but written so beautifully. and the spice was just right.

2nd chance
New adult
Roommates to lovers
Queer awakening

Besties bangin’ is always a trope I adore. These boys fall deeper and deeper until they’re calling each other baby and no longer hiding their spark. There isn’t a whole lot to sum up; the boys meet as freshmen, become roommates 3 years later, and then fall for each other. There are parties and friends in the mix but as with most uni aged characters there isn’t a whole lot more going on than the path to each other and self acceptance.

The last 30 mins of the book are a little heavy as one of the MC’s is recovering from being bashed by a homophobe.

This book was narrated by Alexander Cendese and as other books in this series he narrates solo even with the dual POV.
