Elsie Silver
About this listen
Keeping things professional with my employees has never been an issue. Until she waltzed onto my property.
Billie is talented. She's mouthy. And she's so damn tempting. I can't stop thinking about all the ways I could take her down a peg. I can't stop thinking about her, period.
We clash from the moment we meet. And in a small town, on an even smaller farm, it's hard to keep your distance. It's even harder to keep that friction from turning to fire.
But keeping my distance? That might be the biggest struggle of all. Because Billie is the whole package, whip-smart with a body I fantasize about when I'm alone, and quite possibly the only woman who can save this business—and me.
She drives me crazy. In every sense of the word. Every smart-mouthed little comment—every game we play—I end up wanting more. Wanting her closer. With me. Under me.
I try not to let her get to me, but the more time we spend together the more I crave her. Her lips. Her trust. Her heart. I want it all. But at what cost? Because suddenly I don't just want to win races, I want to win the girl.
Contains mature themes.

Not my favourite Elsie Silver book.
I have to start with the narrators, CJ Bloom was delicate and enticing as always, and the 3 stars for narration are all hers. I did not however enjoy Tim Paige at all, and will likely avoid titles with his narration in the future, he felt too 'stage performance' rather than reflective and interesting, I have a pompous old time prince image in my mind for him, and his female voice interpretation is awful and almost condescending in some way. As for the story, I've listened to the chestnut springs novels and both of the rose hill series available so far and really enjoyed all of them, but thus story just falls flat to me. I'll admit I have little interest in the equine industry, though I don't have for the bullriding industry either but I enjoyed that, this one just felt uninteresting, all about the horse, and had a male character that felt throughout like a spoiled man-child that never quite fit the bill as the man he was intended to be written as....in my opinion. On to the next addition, looking forward to reading about Violet and Cole finally.

What a fantastic start to a series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I fell in love with Elsie Silver's writing through Wild Love and the Chestnut Springs series, and I know this series came before those, so I'm listening out of order, but it's not a big deal really.
All of her books are fantastic, and such a joyful liaten. Can't wait to work my through this whole series, as they are released as audio books.
Excellent writing and brilliant narration make this one that I will listen to several times over.

My first Elsie book! ✨
This was my first Elsie Silver book but it’s not gonna be my last! I liked this story, it does have the insta-lust trope which was okay. I liked the romance too, it was maybe a bit slow and not too spicy, the narrators were really good but the actual story and DD were what kept me mostly invested (shock and horror. Who IS she?!) overall, I’d recommend!

I love all Elsie diver books so far but this one is definatly not my favourite! The narrators remind me of a Disney movie I don’t know why lol

Her relationship with the horse had med bawling
This book is for me more about her and the horse then the romance but maybe that’s because I really liked to read about that. H is a bit annoying being so rude to her in the beginning. I read the chestnut spring series first and it contains one of my favorite books ever so maybe my hopes was to high but this is 3-4 stars for me

Really great book, heartwarming and funny. FMC is sassy without a potty mouth. What not to love
