Summary
An Amazon Charts best seller
Wall Street Journal best-selling author Ilsa Madden-Mills delivers a smart and sexy contemporary romance about a smoking-hot professional football player and the small-town girl he can’t resist.
We start off with a lie on Valentine’s Day.
My blind date isn’t the studious guy I expected: He’s a drop-dead gorgeous player with sinful amber eyes. Somehow we end up at his penthouse. I blame the gin and tonic.
The next day I learn he’s Jack Hawke - bad-boy professional quarterback with a murky past. The NDA he has me sign should be a warning that he isn’t a regular person. Please. I sign it Juliet Capulet, so goodbye, famous football player with abs of steel, and good luck tracking down this small-town librarian.
But Jack keeps showing up in places I least expect him. Just when I’m sure he’s gone, he waltzes into my community theater and wins the part of Romeo to my Juliet. How’s a plain, mostly innocent girl like me supposed to resist a man like him?
Is Jack my real Romeo...or will this gorgeous football player only break my heart?

4.5 stars - loved this story!
Adored this story so I award 5 long-breathy-make-out-kiss stars for it! A funny, gorgeous read.
When Elena Riley's best friend sets her up on a blind date, she never expects him to be so freakin' gorgeous. She also never expects to end up back at his place, or to wake up to an empty bed, and a note that proves him to be a liar. However, that's not the last she'll see of him.
Jack Hawke has trust issues and an NDA to protect his privacy. However, Elena is seeping beneath under his skin and making him throw caution to the wind. He definitely knows that one night is not enough for him but his fears may just damage something that could be amazing.
I adored this story. Elena was a fab female lead. I loved that she walked her own path, yet didn't realise how magnetic and charismatic she was - the effect she had on other people. She was direct, sassy, and had some great verbal comebacks. Jack was misused and misunderstood. Under his gorgeous, hunky facade was a surprisingly sweet guy. I giggled and melted at his favourite things but thrilled at his dirty-talking mouth! These two had intense chemistry and were made for each! The kissing alone was so sexy! Another fabulous read from one of my faves!
In terms of narration, I adore Savannah Peachwood's voice. She's really expressive, has fantastic timing and pacing, and does a great job with the male voices. I've never listened to Eric G Dove before but must admit that he didn't quite hit the spot for me in this particular story, which is why it's 4.5 stars overall for the audiobook, but because I love the story, I enjoyed the audio on the whole.

A fun read!
I thought this was so cute and kept me hooked throughout. It was a palette cleanser after the boring book I had just finished.
It's just a light fluffy romance set in a small town. What made it special for me was the feisty but realistic heroine who is a quirky librarian.
I loved how Elena met Jack, a famous quarterback, on a blind date. There was instant chemistry but she gave as good as she got and as for those panties. What a hoot!
I'm definitely going to read the next in the series and I'm pleased I have found a new author.

A Lovely Sports Romance!🏈👙💘
Not My Romeo
The Game Changers, Book 1
By: Ilsa Madden-Mills
Audiobook 🎧
Narrated by: Savannah Peachwood, Eric G. Dove
Length: 10 hrs and 22 mins
(Read Using Kindle Unlimited)
A librarian with a ponchont for making and wearing one of a kind underwear goes on a blind date. She sits down in the restaurant at the table with the man wearing a blue shirt. Only he isn't her blind date. He's the bad boy of Amercian Football in Nashville.🙈
That is the start of a high octane romance with lots of chemistry, fun, misunderstandings, and almost a premature ending of the best thing they've ever had!🥺
A full cast of friends and family round this book out beautifully. The narrators brought them all to life so well.👏🎧
It was thoroughly enjoyable and I loved the epilogue.😍

Male narrator kind of ruin it for me
the male narrator kind of irritated me , specially when pretending to do a lady voice 😑 but the book is OK, not the author best or maybe I was just put off by the male narrator

Forgetable
I bought this book, reviewed it, and then forgot it so thoroughly that I bought it again!
It is such a generic read and I thought that was the reason for it being so familiar. I was probably right!
I must be careful to not do it a third time, It is forgetable.

Don’t bother!
I almost gave up on chapter 5 or 6. This book has not got much essence. The characters are not well developed. The story is completely predictable. So don’t bother, you will be disappointed.
