Summary

No Past Forgiven is the third audiobook in the Dublin Murder mystery series. It will appeal to fans of authors such as Peter James, L. J. Ross and Ruth Rendall.

Crime and criminals keep getting in the way of Detective Garda Sergeant Mike West's personal life. The woman he loves is living in his house, in his spare bedroom. It should be simple, but it isn't. He has a solution. A romantic weekend away, in a lighthouse on Clare Island. A stunning place, a beautiful woman. What could be more perfect?

When one of the islanders dies in a bizarre and a tragic accident, West is roped in to help. But it isn't an accident, and there is more than one suspect. There's also more than one secret. Can West solve the case before someone else dies?

easy to read but a bit inplausable

I really liked the first 3 books by Valerie Keogh with Sergeant Mike West . Unfortunately when the plot developed and the girlfriend was allowed to sit in on all police interviews, I lost interest.
wouldn't happen. shame.

Good detective story.

Strong plot, believable characters and narrator was easy to listen too.
Story line keeps you guessing and wanting to listen more.

I am loving this series, it gets better and better, but...

The Narrator is getting worst!! In this book, he decided to whisper the story 🙄🙄. At some points I could hardly hear what he was saying. His female accents are just awful. Not sure why folk are so negative about the bedroom scenes. I think they are tastefully done and bring a different angle into a police procedural series. I am a big fan of this author's storytelling. Thank you.

First in the series that I didn’t solve the mystery

The narrator seems to change the way he reads with each book. This time, he read the story very quietly, but narrated the speech at a normal volume. Very irritating, especially when driving. I either had it turned up to hear what was happening, which meant the characters were shouting, or I missed the story in order to hear the speech. Very distracting when driving. Don’t get me wrong, he reads h
I was beginning to feel I’d had enough of this series - nothing wrong with it, I just don’t like series. But then there were unexpected twists and turns and a good ending that left me wanting to know what happened next. So I’m moving on to book four.
I love the characterisations in Keogh’s books, which really helps me to keep going. I care about them.

Brilliant Books

Am so enjoying this detective series. The plots are well thought out, and have lots of twists and turns. The guy who reads it is perfect I find his voice so relaxing so looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Thank you Valerie Keogh

What a cracking listen… next!

Again Ms Keogh brings tension and thrills to another tale. Same characters but more insights, different twists. Excellent. Next one in series…

Wasn't disappointed!

Couldn't put this down. it is just as absorbing as previous 2 . Wish there were more books narrated by Stephen Daly who pitched his soft Irish lilt just right - I could listen to him all day!!!

I gave the story 4 stars simply because I couldn't quite accept that a civilian was allowed to attend and participate in Gardai interviews.

Another Great Book in the Series

I am enjoying these books and this one was another great story with twists and turns and kept me listening, the only thing that I question is, the fact that Edel is involved with talking to suspects and accompanying Mike with police situations. Surely that would not be permitted.
That said, yet another great book.
