About this listen

The packed cruise ship is a terrific nesting ground for a lord and lady of the Wamphyri on the run from E-Branch and the new Necroscope, Jake Cutter. By the time the ship is reported missing, the few beings still living on board will no longer be human...and the Wamphyri will be long fled to their next conquest.

Korath, the vampire who lurks in Jake Cutter's mind, is determined to gain control of Jake's life, and Jake is equally determined not to let him have it. But to win this struggle, Jake must confide in Ben Trask—and Trask, the head of E-Branch, is likely to want Jake dead the minute he learns of Jake's intrusive passenger!

The spore garden planted under London by the third Wamphyri, Lord Swartz, is bearing bitter fruit indeed as a mysterious sleeping sickness—with a vampiric taint—slowly spreads among the population of Great Britain.

E-Branch action teams have more on their plates than they can handle. They must locate terrorists who threaten the world with nuclear homicide; permanently close the Gate between the Wamphyri world and Earth; analyze the spore plague; and locate and destroy the three Wamphyri.

In Brian Lumley's Necroscope: Avengers, even the powers of Harry Keogh, the original Necroscope, summoned from the Great Beyond via the combined powers of E-Branch's strongest agents, may not be enough to defeat the monsters who have brought Earth to the brink of total destruction.

Brilliant simple narration awesome just love this whole violent blood thirsty series, Joshua Saxon is the voice of Lumley on a par with the magnificent R C Bray but with an English accent!

Epic Conclusion to The E-Branch Trilogy

Necroscope: Avengers is the epic final book in the E-Branch trilogy. The series as a whole doesn't have a weak book but I think this is definitely one of the strongest entries. From the horrifying opening sequence in the Mediterranean, to the intense chase across Eastern Europe, this one never really lets up.
Joshua (the voice of Necroscope) Saxon performs another masterclass with his superb narration. The way he handles the numerous characters and accents is truly impressive. His voice for Lord Swartz is absolutely terrifying and the way he delivers the survivor's story is faultless.
One of the best in the Necroscope series. Highly recommended.

A Cruise Ship Full Of Vampires!

The thrilling Necroscope series finishes it's Invaders / Defilers / Avengers Trilogy in grand style with an ending that changes the entire paradigm of the series!!

I won't speak too much about story or plot details. Suffice it to say that Lumley is in a lane of his own and is so profoundly into his groove as an author and so at home in this rich world he's created full of fun characters that he makes an operatic ending to (this part of) a 14 book series look effortless.

As always a special nod of recognition and thanks must go to narrator Joshua Saxon, who's resonant and versatile performances have played a huge part in bringing the Necroscope series and the works of Brian Lumley in general to life for me and many others.

As soon as the newest book in this series arrives on Audible I already know I'm getting it. I just click "add to cart" without reading the synopsis and dive right in because I know by this point I'm going to have a great time. And that's a precious thing in this age of algorithm generated paper thin content.

I Didn’t See That Coming

Another great audiobook by Brian Lumley.

As always lots of twists and turns expertly narrated by Joshua Saxon. Who once again made Lumley’s characters come alive.

I have to be honest the last few chapters felt rushed. It made it difficult to work out what was happening to who.

But I guess what made up for the rushed approach was the final outcome.

I certainly didn’t see that coming.
