The saying "livin' the dream" is usually said with sarcasm, but I truly am living my dream in Coral Pointe Inlet with my four best friends. Still, as I watch three of them fall in love, my heart aches a little with longing. It doesn't help when Hunter, a man I spent an incredible weekend with, comes back to Coral Pointe—not alone, I might add. Regardless, I find myself drifting toward the man. A little overlong and repetitive
While this was sweet in sections, as a whole I found the internal monologues of both Noah and Hunter really annoying and repetitive. How many times did we have to be told that Noah was 'living the dream, in paradise with his 4 best friends'? And how Hunter was a property developer and player whose life was turned up side down?
I also wonder if the writer has ever been around babies, because there was a distinct lack of realistic baby 'issues' and it sounded like Hunter went from self consumed man-whore to SuperDad in a few weeks. Any first time parent knows that this is nonsense. Your baby won't sleep through the night at 7months so you can get laid!
I also noticed that the group of men friends are written as so emotionally available, empathetic, supportive and touchy-feely that the characters could well be female, not male. The only male attributes were muscles and what was between their legs. I get that this is gay romance written by a woman for women, but as a woman I don't want the male characters in romance novels to behave like over-emotional sorority sisters!
