About this listen
Adventure – something that’s new and exhilarating, outside your comfort zone. Adventures change you and how you see the world, and all you need is an open mind, bags of enthusiasm and boundless curiosity.
So what’s a microadventure? It’s close to home, cheap, simple, short and 100% guaranteed to refresh your life. A microadventure takes the spirit of a big adventure and squeezes it into a day or even a few hours.
The point of a microadventure is that you don’t need lots of time and money to meet a new challenge. This practical guide is filled with ideas for microadventures – for you to experience on your own or with friends and family, plus tips and advice on safety and kit.
Whether it’s sleeping on a hilltop or going for a wild swim, cycling a lap of the Isle of Wight or walking home for Christmas, it’s time you discovered something new about yourself and the world outside your window. Adventure is everywhere, every day and it is up to us to find it.

So much fun in this and to be had as a result
Each one of Alistair's books has brought excitement, fed ambition and also reminded me of the extra beauty that can be found in a bountiful existence.
Out of 100 audiobooks listened to this year Alistair's have made the biggest impact on me and I can't wait to share his podcast, books and adventures with my daughter and my friends. I'm lucky to of found these books

Super book
I loved his sense of humour and passion for getting us out the door and exploring, even if it might start with our garden first!

The authors enthusiasm
I love how Alistair has so much enthusiasm for his adventures and for getting us armchair adventurers out into the great outdoors and not wasting away on our sofas, I thought my adventuring days were over until I bought a pedal assist mountain bike now I am developing the same attitude toward my weekends out of work, I been back up onto the moors cycling, a thing I never thought I’d do again after an unsuccessful spinal operation, but with Alastair’s help and my electric bike ( because of his passion for all things adventure wise) I’ve been literally able to get back in the saddle although with some discomfort it’s been a new opening for me doing micro adventures all over my local area, I’m not at Alistair’s level but then that’s the whole point of what he’s saying you don’t need to do epic, do convenient, do affordable, do micro ……….but DO !

Great book, highly recommended!
Excellent book to encourage and show people how to get out there and enjoy simple adventures wherever they may be in the world, proving you do not need to be rugged and hardcore, wealthy or even have lots of time.
You have the same 168 hours in a week as anyone else. If you watch TV you have time!

Inspirational
I love adventures and thwarted by time and money pressure. Micro adventures are the way forward for me, whilst awaiting the big ones, so using this book to get ideas was brilliant.

A book jammed full of inspiration!
"Adventures" sounds big and scary, but "microadventures" sound brilliant and far more doable! Plenty of advice, tips, tricks, ideas, and anecdotes that anyone can pick up and use!

wake your long dormant adventurous child within!
I loved this book it is exactly what I was hoping it would be, it was read superbly by Alistair and has reinvigorated my already enthusiastic need for small adventures again.
I will now be the Annoying One in my few remaining adventurous friends group who will be hassling for us all to go out and have an adventure in the countryside again like we used to the trouble is most of us are now parents and they always make the excuse they have no time however I won't be accepting this as a reason any longer
