About this listen
Lyrical Ballads features a selection of poems from Wordsworth and Coleridge's 1798 collaboration, which marked the beginning of the English Romantic poetry movement.
In the first episode, we hear Coleridge's "Lewti" and Wordsworth's "The Thorn", while the second episode showcases Coleridge's "The Nightingale" and Wordsworth's "Lucy" poems. In the final episode, we hear Wordsworth's "Lines Written A Few Miles above Tintern Abbey" and Coleridge's pseudo-medieval ballad, "Love".
The poems are expertly read by Julius D'Silva, Mark Meadows, and Peter Gruffyd. This selection was adapted and produced by Emma Harding.

A Captivating Read!
Where does Lyrical Ballads rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It is a fantastic and well narrated audiobook. Compared to a number of audiobooks I have listened to in which poems are recited, this, by far, has to be the best.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Lyrical Ballads?
The poem entitled "Strange fits of passion' was one of the best poems.
Have you listened to any of Mark Meadows’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to any other audiobooks by the narrator, however I shall look into more.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was an extremely engaging book, one of which I was able to remain interested with the plot and was able to read in the space of one evening.

great readings
really enjoyed the readings. I was reading the poems at the same time as listening and found that a bit difficult to keep up. I know they are particularly long poems and you have to cut them somewhere. overall a pleasant way to spend 40mins.
