Summary
Miss Marple meets Oscar Wilde in this new series of cosy mysteries set in the picturesque Cotswolds village of Bunburry.
Life is looking up for amateur sleuth Alfie McAlister. He has found relatives he never knew he had, and at long last, he has replaced the avocado suite in his bathroom. But he is shocked to get a plea for help from his niece Ruby, a young law graduate in Oxford. There is no support from his fellow amateur sleuths: Liz and Marge are having problems of their own, and Constable Emma Hollis isn't answering her phone. He offers Ruby sanctuary in Bunburry - but his invitation brings danger to the village...
Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series Piece of Cake. He is also the lead in the BBC series The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

Another lovely adventure
I adore these stories of Archie and his pals in Bunbury. The narrator does an excellent job in bringing them to life. I highly recommend them for a cosy autumn afternoon.

Another fantastic story
Helena Marchmont and Nathaniel Parker are a perfect match! My only criticism is the stories are too short. I could listen to 7-8 hrs happily. Every new Bunburry story I binge in one sitting. I started listening to this while cooking dinner and just finished. I really enjoyed it. I am very invested in the story of Alfie and his family and friends. I am really happy about the new turn of events. I think it is a great pushing off point for adventures to come. But I do wish his love life will get sorted soon every time it looks like something is going to happen something cocks it up. Betty was lovely but wasn't right for him. Emma is younger, but clearly she has a thing for him. She is a remarkable strong willed woman who is very much like him. Maybe Emma should make the first move it's 2022. Or maybe now we could witness Ruby, Liz and Marge working together to set Emma and Alfie together. That would be fun too see them creating a scenario where Emma and Alfie stay together going undercover as a married couple maybe with the young Harry Potter look alike as their son. (I can't remember his name?) Where we see Alfie would be a great dad and Emma would be an amazing mum. And that they realise they have feelings for each other! We all know who would wear the pants in that relationship. Emma, and Alfie would show the way to a woman's heart is also through their stomach. I could hear Emma saying to Alfie. You know I think I could love you almost as much as I love this pudding... Err, thanks I love you too! Bunburry is a wonderful cozy mystery series and Nathaniel is perfect as the narrator. I would love to hear a story where Oscar the Goth and the Harry Potter look alike are at the library and have a mystery to solve. I would also like to see Alfie either giving Emma cooking lessons or going with her to a cooking class. Growing their relationship and then them having to solve a murder about cake!

Wonderful as always
Always look forward to the characters in the village of Bunburry. This episode was a bit different as new characters have been introduced. Lots of humour and just the right amount of intrigue and suspense. Can’t wait for the next one.
