About this listen
All stella and george have to do is...
Hide their breakup.
After a series of blazing rows about everything from Jurassic Park to installing car seats for their (hypothetical) children, Stella and George are getting divorced.
Catch a murderer.*
But first, Stella's mum is throwing a murder mystery party - and with her dad losing his job and her mum's recent diagnosis, now is hardly the time to tell everyone.
Make it through one last family party.
Stella and George just have to get through the day without their breakup being discovered - though it will soon turn out that keeping secrets runs in the family....
*pretend murderer

Didn't get me fired up
I'm sorry but I found this book tedious and depressing. The narrator, whose performance technically vas good, sounded like this was supposed to be comedic, but I just couldn't find anything amusing. I didn't finish the book, made it about half way and then skipped to the end. I felt that I wouldn't have wanted to meet any of the characters, felt sorry about their incapability to talk to each other. But this was just my experience here and now.

Like a House on Fire!
Loved this book from start to finish. Clever, ever so slightly dark humour wrapped up in brilliant observation. The story itself is very touching and each character is easy to believe and relate to.
I read The Adults by the same author last year and really enjoyed it so was keen to read this latest release - I read it in 2 sittings and I recommend it highly. It made me giggle and tear up in equal parts.
Easy to connect to every character and to be honest, I have friends like many of them.
I love Caroline Hulse's writing style. It's easy to read but profoundly well observed.
I look forward to the next book! 5 stars!
