Letting go does not mean that you discard the knowledge you have experienced in your past. Your knowledge remains there and present, but letting go means letting go of the images and emotions, disappointments, frustrations and attachments and fears that cling to your mind.
You practice this meditation by deeply relaxing and consciously surrounding yourself with the situation, turning your gaze inwards and becoming aware of how you are making space: space for new, for better things in your life. You have to be willing to let go in order to receive the life that is waiting for you.
Knowing when to let go is wisdom, doing it is courage and keeping your head up is dignity and self-respect. Letting go takes less strength than holding on and yet it is harder.
And yes, one of the hardest lessons in our lives is letting go, whether it is guilt, anger, love, loss or disappointment. Change is never easy, we are always fighting to hold on and we are always fighting to let go.
Learn to let go - because that is the key to happiness - because when you let go you create more space, space for new things, for better things in your life. You have to be willing to let go in order to receive the life that is waiting for you.
