Summary

Let Me Be Frank is the new book from one of the world's sporting greats. A deeply personal story, Bruno talks about his battle with mental illness, his time inside a mental facility, the impact his illness has had on his family and his career - and his long road back to stability.

Now ready to talk about the condition that devastated his world, Frank's story offers his own unique perspective on living with bipolar disorder. His fears, his triumphs and the great affection he feels for the legion of fans he has to this day. His aim is to give others hope and inspiration.

Inspirational Book

Frank Bruno is an inspiration on how never to give up and to be yourself. the narrator tried a little too hard to sound like Frank but as long as you can get over that the listen is well worth it. wishing Frank health and happiness and thank you for sharing your story.

Insight.

As a sufferer of mental health, I never compared me to Frank...but I identified with an awful lot of his trials and tribulations. Keep it going Frank.

Best book I’ve listened to in ages.

This book was seriously good and a very moving story. Britain has always willed Bruno on throughout his illness but this book gives so much insight. There’s plenty on info contained that wasn’t printed in the papers.
The performance of the narrator was outstanding. Far to they can ruin a good book but this narrator really did justice to the book.

Fantastic listen!

I remembered Ben Owukwe as Recall in London's Burning - and he has another brilliant performance.

Frank's story is inspirational. Men should never be frightened to talk about how they feel. Frank is showing men that it's ok to say when things aren't right. A great listen for anyone who loves a redemption story and hopefully people in those tough places right now will get the help they need. 5 stars!

Mental health in perspective

Such a human story. Masses of struggle and pride, defeats and victories. It also shows the intelligence of a man who isn’t easily articulate in speech. Great lesson for all of us on how easily we might help people who seem too strong to need help. It’s been a privilege to read this.

A true hero

I am not a boxing fan, however, the personality that is Frank Bruno I am a fan of. His easy way and his booming voice that makes for a softer feeling is something I really love.

Listening to this book of the most painful parts of his life has been such a revelation. Frank writes with a simple tone. The narration by Ben Onwukwe makes Frank's voice become visible.

I was taken by the harrowing experiences Frank recounts on his path from mental illness to wellness. We are heading towards a new paradigm shift and I am happy that Frank Bruno is bringing more light to this part of our lives.

Thank you Frank for your candour and to Ben for lending his voice artistry to the telling of Frank Bruno's biggest bout.

Frank Bruno - Legend!!

What the eyes don't see and the ears don't hear!! I grew up with Frank Bruno on my screens a a little girl. I saw most of his fights on TV with my Dad. As a grown woman now, I wotk in mental health. Mr Bruno has done exceedingly well to be discharged from meds and care. I applaud you Sir...x
