Summary
Two years after his wife’s death, oceanographer and former navy SEAL, Atticus Young attempts to reconcile with his rebellious daughter, Giona, by taking her on the scuba dive of a lifetime - swimming with a pod of peaceful humpback whales in the Gulf of Maine. But the beauty of the sea belies a terror from the deep - a horrific creature as immense as it is ancient. There is no blood, no scream, no fight. Giona is swallowed whole by the massive jaws. Only Atticus remains to suffer the shame of the survivor and his inconsolable grief turns to an unquenchable thirst for revenge. Drawn by the spectacle, Trevor Manfred, a ruthless billionaire, approaches Atticus with a proposition: Trevor will make available all the advanced technology of his heavily armed mega-yacht, the Titan, to aid Atticus in his death-quest. In return, Trevor is to receive the beast’s corpse as the ultimate hunting trophy. But in the midst of the hunt, Atticus makes a terrifying discovery that changes the way he sees the ocean’s creatures and begs the question: What is Kronos? The answer sets him on a new and much more deadly course.

An explosion of action at sea
Robinson’s ability to pick a setting and create a character driven adventure is master class. Having listened to many of his books this one doesn’t disappoint. Once you the hit the water in the book it’s all go until the end!

Excellent
This book is the one that got me reading Jeremy Robinson's books, everything you would expect from Jeremy fast paced thriller good characters. An excellent narration by Jeffery Kafer.

Thought provoking
More a family drama and story of hope than sci fi. Not bad with action and villains and a hero along with a somewhat happy ending. Not the usual twisting plot. And a bit religious or maybe sacrilegious depending on your own beliefs. Still a robust and easy listen with plenty of action.

Another brilliantly clever Kaiju book.
Disclaimer: I was provided a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.
Kaiju are my thing. Since childhood and seeing the original Godzilla movie I've been a fan of giant monsters and my innate fear of depths mean that sea-monsters are my favourite and so I'm always excited to read stories of this setting.
I admit that, early on, I was worried this was going to be another generic Plesiosaur book as this was the impression of the audiobook cover and initial hints as to the creature, but I should have had more faith in the author of the Project Nemesis series. Pretty soon I was embroiled in a world of egos, billionaires, action and a titanic sea-creature with a questionable origin.
The book had a real sense of urgency and, while lacking in excessive scenes of monsterous attack, it successfully maintains a sense of danger and impending threat. Atticus' motivations are clear, as are those of the supporting cast but, if I had one gripe, it's that some of the relationships are a little bland and felt too convenient but very much in keeping with an action story, which this is at its core.
Speaking of cast, each one is wonderfully realised by the indomitable Jeffrey Kafer, a man who's name is synonymous with quality narration and this was no exception with both recognisable character voices and a real sense of emotion and reality to each scene.
Far better than I'd first expected and with a real sense of surprise and revelation throughout, I enjoyed this book much more than I initially expected and Jeremy has once again proven why he is the master of the Kaiju genre.

Giona And The Whale
An ex-navy seal seeking revenge on a mysterious giant sea monster who devoured his daughter, a billionaire who has a high-tech superyacht complete with pet shark and too much time on his hands, a priest, and an old love interest added into the mix. That pretty much sums it up.
Overall, Kronos is a good story that doesn't require too much brain power to keep track of what is happening. Narration by Kafer is on point as usual. Kronos hardly holds a candle to Robinson's later works like The Infinite Timelime, but it's still definitely worth the credit. Highly recommended.

Sea monster meet ex Seal
Having lost his wife, ex Seal Atticus Young suffers more loss, when his daughter is consumed by a sea monster. Grief ridden and out for revenge, Atticus goes in search of the ancient monster assisted by an eccentric billionaire. Good book, that moves at a good pace.
Well written by Jeremy and the usual good narration by Jeffrey.

who is the monster
Loved the narration of Jeffrey Kafer, he brings out the pace, the action and characters.
When an ex-Navy Seal and now Oceanographer Atticus, goes driving with his sixteen old daughter Giona. He witnesses her getting swallowed by a massive sea creature. All his old ways come to the back, and he is out for revenge. Add in an old lover and an unscrupulous billionaire with a taste for hunting and you have found this modernisation of an ancient myth. Even though this story has a sea monster, this is not a horror story, but it is entertaining and has lots of action, a touch of romance, plot twists, some biblical undertones and a 28-foot shark called Laurel that acts as a yacht's guard-dog. Oh and a priest that is not your normal priest.
