An invaluable guide to language learning
I came across this book on Audible , my language learning had hit the learner;s plateau and i needed a boost.This hit a sweet spot the most commonly used 2000 words will boost your learning and confidence and get you back on track without wasting time on non essential learrning

Perfetto!
I wanted an audbook, aimed at intermediate level learners, to help me build a good level of Italian vocabulary in a list, with context. I did not want details on grammar, or an Italian course. Just vocabulary. This audiobook is close to what I wanted. However many sentences are longer than is either necessary or helpful. In fact in some cases two sentences are given. This is an irritation when listening. Also the English parts are read in American English not UK English but that's not too irritating.

Overall great resource for learning vocabulary
This is an excellent resource to learn new vocabulary and go over vocabulary you already know. It divides the words into categories (example: adjectives or verbs) and lists each word with a sentence using the word in context. It is especially useful that Edoardo narrates the sentence slowly the first time, then normal speed the second time. The best way to use this book is to follow along with the attached PDF file and note all new words. My method is to write down the provided sentence while listening to the audio, and then create my own sentences using the word to make sure I really understand it. Only thing I would change is to have multiple example sentences provided, in case the first sentence didn't clear it up for me.
I would be interested if they did a similar book with conjugations, as I want to study this in the same manner. I think explaining the conjugation structure, then providing example sentences in context would be great for learning conjugation.
Overall, I am very happy to add this to my Italian learning resources and hope to see the other books they have on offer.

The Missing link.
The pronunciation is clear, giving you enough time to repeat the phrases. The downloadable pdf is great too as it really helps to read and listen at the same time. Definitely recommend this book for anyone trying to learn Italian..

Useful as Vocabulary Builder
As others have said, downsides include:
- the American English accent of the reader when reading the English part (his Italian pronunciation was of course fine)
- mis-numbering of many words
However, provided you start with a reasonable understanding of Italian, this will be very helpful in building a better vocabulary. If you don't have a basic understanding it will be very off-putting, but you can always save it for later.
It is a pity that the opportunity was lost of reading out the word numbers in Italian.
Finally, I lied about the quality of the story in the star ratings. The story was of course non-existent, but it seems churlish to spoil the rating because of Audible's dire rating system!
