Summary
The disturbing disappearance of yet another young, red-haired gal from the Irish Travellers’ Caravan site has everyone on edge. Then Shamus Maguire’s 12-year-old sister, Erin, vanishes.
While searching for clues to his sister’s disappearance, Shamus meets Lash Boswell, an older man from a Romani caravan. Lash decides to help Shamus, and they set out together to find the truth about the many disappearances.
Both their families disapprove of openly gay relationships. However, the tarot cards say these two are fated to be together. But to go public with their relationship, both would have family and friends forced to choose who they’ll stay true to, the family or Lash and Shamus.
Can a Romani and an Irish Traveller make their relationship work without alienating their families? More importantly, can they work together to find Erin?

Loving an Irish Tinker
Shamus is a red-haired Irish Gypsy who's gay. His father is a drunken fighter of a man who takes everything out on his children. Shamus has his own caravan where he lives with his two younger brothers and sometimes his mother and sisters. His life is protecting his family.
Lash, a Romani Gypsy who's gay but has hidden it from everyone, shares a caravan with his brother on the Romani Gypsy site in Galway.
Everything is as expected until the day another red-haired young Irish Gypsy goes missing, Shamus's sister.
This book is full of love, hate, family, turmoil and some hot sex. It is an excellent story of how no matter the odds against you are, there can be a happy ever after.
After reading this book, I was extremely fortunate to get a review copy of the audio. Hearing the book was lovely as it always brings the characters to life. However, the narrator read very slowly for me, but most narrators do, so I speed up to 1.40, sometimes 1.50 depending on how I felt. But I do prefer audiobooks to reading these days.

Great story and performance
I read this book when it was first released, and I loved it. The mystery grabbed me immediately and kept me rooting for a happy ending all the way through. Shamus and Lash are wonderful characters, and while their relationship starts quickly, the pacing of it as the novel goes along feels just right. There is lots of heat but it comes after we are sure Shamus and Lash are in it for the long haul. Children, and what it means to be a parent and honor family responsibilities, are the theme of this book. Some characters rise to the challenge superbly and some fail, either through lack of coping skills or because they are just evil. I don't have children and sometimes books heavily invested in them don't hold my interest but I can truthfully say that the kids in this book are all individuals, they behave realistically like the kids I know and I really enjoyed getting to know them. They are strong and resilient even through some very, very traumatic things and that is due to the wonderful man Shamus is. You'll learn things about different groups in Irish society and there's just the touch of magic in the Tarot here as well. I said after I read it, that I couldn't wait to hear it on audio. I knew Brina Brady would find someone with a great Irish accent, but I must admit to a bit of trepidation at hearing his take on Lash. I adored Lash immediately and so wanted him to shine. I needn't have worried. James Talbot gave me my sexy, gentle, strong, protective Lash perfectly. He nailed Shamus with his shyness and quiet determination as well. This cannot have been an easy book to perform, with its male and female characters of widely differing ages but Talbot does them all beautifully. This one definitely goes on my re-listen to shelf.

Outstanding
When I read this book I had this narrators voice in my head. This author brings the book to life and the narrator brings the story to life. Absolutely brilliant. Loved it and they both nailed it!!!!!!
