About this listen
What happens when your biggest crush turns up on your doorstep after 12 years?
Cadence Crawford has a good thing going. He’s making waves as a realtor in Mission City, British Columbia. Yes, he’s recently suffered a personal loss, but he’s moving on, and his path forward includes selling the only true home he’s ever known.
Marcus Brannigan is doing fine. He has his physiotherapy practice, he watches over his younger twin sisters, and he’s happy. When he unexpectedly runs into Cadence, who is selling the home he’s always coveted, he’s prepared to do some negotiating.
Neither knew they were seriously crushing on each other. Now they’ve admitted the truth, is happily ever after in the cards?
"Marcus’s Cadence" is a 7,000-word second-chance gay romance instalove short story with a very happy ending and a Maltipoo named Kiki.

Very cute second chance romance
This was such a sweet and steamy second chance romance story. Even with their history it did seem like they went from 0-60 in no time at all but I didn't even care. It was so cute. I also enjoyed the subplot of Cadence's family situation that was heartfelt. Anyone having to start over after a family death can relate to this heartwarming story. Leaving off a star just cause of how it was left hanging.
The narration by MD was wonderful as always. He expressed all the emotions and brought the story to life. His distinctive voices made is very easy to focus and they suited the characters perfectly.

Quick indeed
What happens when you meet your infatuation from your younger years. For Cadence and Marcus something insta and steamy, before they start to develop a relationship.
Narration was good as expected for this steamy one. 4 * overall

a hot short story
this is basically a sex scene only, which is completely fine except there was this backstory that didn't really fit the short story theme because there was a very large and complicated story that was just like a footnote in short story about best-friend brother getting together when they are all grown up.

Great short story!
This was short and hot. I love second chance stories and this was a really good one. I don’t expect the same things from a short story that I might from a longer book. I think Gabbi Grey did a great job of writing a short story that felt much longer. Michael Dean did another great job with the audiobook.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

A real home
I love that these two meet again and recognize their feelings for each other over a house that has always been home for Cadence and that Marcus has always dreamed of owning. They form a beautiful, loving family and Michael Dean's performance captures all the feels. Would love to return to these characters in a full length novel/audiobook.

Marcus’ Cadence
This is a good, super quick listen. It’s lots of steam with a story too. It’s tough to get enough development in such a short story. There was enough to make me want more, but leave me okay if it’s the end of the line. MD did a great job with the narration.

Short story with a great narration
This is a sweet short story about Cadence and Marcus who meet again after many years. In the process, they discover that they had something in common in the past.
Michael Dean was brilliant. He portrayed the characters very well, so the short story was over way too quickly.
