Summary
Sawyer can spot a bad boyfriend at a hundred paces....
Liars, cheaters, and worse, he can’t seem to stay away. If it weren’t for Axel Lewis, he wouldn’t be able to put himself back together after every heartbreak. Ax is kind, protective, and way too good for the mess that is Sawyer Clarke. But when one of his terrible exes starts causing trouble, Sawyer will need the help of his best friend to stay out of danger. And maybe, just maybe, there might be more between them than he’s ever dared to dream.
He’s been waiting for years....
It’s torture to watch the man he loves go through terrible boyfriends who don’t deserve him, and Ax won’t let that happen again. He’s been Sawyer’s best friend since they were kids, and he’s secretly pined for years. Now, he’s ready to make his move and be the man standing at Sawyer’s side for good.
But with Sawyer’s ex ready to cause trouble, it may already be too late. Danger lurks in their sedate town, and when they’re ready for their chance at love it could be ripped away before it can begin.
Love hasn’t come easily or stayed long for the men of Knot Pointe, Colorado. But now luck is on their side. They’ll seize their second chances and find the loves of their lives! This audiobook and every other audiobook in the Second Chance Lovers Series can be enjoyed in any order!

Friends to lovers
I was engrossed in this story from start to finish. Sawyer and Axle are both likeable characters and I particularly enjoyed how Axle slowly builds up Sawyer's self esteem. These besties become lovers just a few chapters in and the rest of the story is the development of their relationship and capturing the bad guy. There is no accidental pregnancy either which is a change for the good after reading several books recently where there was! This is also well written apart from the occasional typo.
C.S. Harder narrates clearly and maintains a steady temp throughout. He brings the characters to life making a good book even more enjoyable.

ADMITTING...
The 2nd book of 2nd Chance Lovers.
Likeable 😊 Here we are during the same time scale as we were with Mason & Beau but this time it's Mason's best friend Sawyer who opens up his true feelings towards Detective Axel whose there seeing the way Sawyer is being treated by his ex & he just couldn't stand seeing him being treated so badly by not JUST by anyone but someone who should worship him & it's during this time that they both open up their true feelings for each other.
Though things move fast forward for them in the relationship role due to Rodrigues the man who put the hit on Beau & killed Marcus Mason's Dad.
So there's lots more action about him than we saw/heard in Crushing On My Father's Best Friend.

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B
