Summary
An old friend. A new course. A deadly ship with a secret cargo.
Ishmael Wang returns to Port Newmar, but ghosts from his past have followed him. His old shipmate, Phillip Carstairs, offers him the opportunity to track down the man who killed his lover. The catch? He must take command of the Chernyakova, a ship that still stinks of death and haunts Ishmael's nightmares.
Together Phillip and Ismael begin a journey into unknown reaches of the Deep Dark to bring back the man who killed Greta.

Ishmael and Pip I've missed you!
I find myself driving home the long way just to hear a little more each day. Hopefully the wait for the next in this series won't be long..

Another Great Book by Nathan Lowell
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book to anyone even though this may not be their genre, as Nathan Lowell is a great storyteller and his characters and storyline drags you in for a great listen.
What did you like best about this story?
What I like about this book is the continuation of Ishmael Horatio Wang's story and the meeting up of his old friends.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
From start to finish the book is enjoyable.
Any additional comments?
If you like a good seafaring story of the old school with great characters with their development and progression in the world of the Solar Clippers this is a book for you.

it's 4am and I am debating
it's 4am and I am debating whether to say up for 3 more hours to finish it because damn does it hit hard
Going into spoiler territory but 310m that's only 140m off and the last time it was sold for 250mm that random guy who up bided, irritates me so much like. How dare you fictional guy, how dare you.

Catharsis after Owners Share
This was the therapy Ishmael and I needed after the ending to Owners Share. Building to another great story.
After the author's narration of Traders Tales this performance jars. In particular the female voices didn't feel natural, undermining what in Traders Tales were very strong characters.

Where to Now?
What is it they say, life is a circle; and so, it seems, Ishmael Wong seems to have gone full circle to end up back at the beginning in one sense.
Back at the Academy he meets up with the crew of his first clipper.
Where the journey goes from here promises one thing, it will be eventful.
A thoroughly enjoyable series which grows as it travels into the deep dark.

An excellent follow on from the previous books.
The narrator is top rate and the writer had me captivated throughout. If you’re read or listened to the previous books I highly recommend you listen to this one too.

in Ashes Born
The narrator did a wonderful job of telling this story.
The book was, as usual, a total credit to Mr Lowells writing ability. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series.

brilliant
Great to be able to carry on with Captain Wong and all the old characters . I found the narrater good to listen too a bit different from Nathan himself but he told the story well.
On to the next book now and will probably finish that in 2 days aswell!
