Summary
The Vampire King is dead….
So now I’m on the run from his maniacal successor, with a critically wounded vampire prince who needs feeding and the maid who loves him at my side.
And I thought the Harvest Games were bad….
To make matters infinitely worse, I’m pretty much obsessed with the General of the Vampire Army, who—spoiler alert—has been tasked with leading the hunting party sent to kill me and my not-so-merry band of misfits. The only chance we have of getting through this mess alive is to throw ourselves at the mercy of the neighboring werewolves and hope they don’t rip us to shreds. They are the key to defeating the newly crowned “King” Edmund and saving the Vampire Kingdom from a return to the old days. Days filled with unchecked cruelty, torture, and mayhem.
It would take a little cunning and loads of audacity to even attempt to negotiate an alliance between two species that have been warring for centuries.
Luckily, I’ve got both in spades.

Great second book
This is the second instalment in this series and I honestly can’t wait to listen to the third.
This series is a lot racier than Shannon’s usual style of writing, but that doesn’t mark it down at all, if anything it makes it better 😜
The narration is great too, the voices fits the story well

Highly recommend a listen
This is the second book of the series and Shannon Mayer has done it again, had me totally engrossed.
The narrator's are so talented, with giving all the character a clear difference in voices.
I like to listen to audio books while driving and there are definitely sections I had to turn the volume down, as oooo la la!
Highly recommend anyone of Shannon's books, but this is a fantastic series to try, if you haven't tried before.

Fast Paced and Gripping Adventure
The 2nd instalment of the Alpha Territories is just as gripping as the first and in true Shannon Mayer style we have plenty of action, twists and turns and a good helping or romance in the mix. You never know what is going to happen as Shannon has a habit of throwing a curve ball just when you think you know what’s next! Absolutely amazing narration by Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne who add that special something to the story! Don’t miss it!

Riveting
Another epic adventure that keeps you guessing, with magic, romance and mystery. I loved the plot twists and the glimpses we’re getting of Sienna’s abilities especially her connection to the different creatures that others fear. Dominic is a favourite of mine and I’m dying to find out how their relationship develops.

Let the tyranny begin!!
So King Stirling is dead and Edmond is on the throne!!
Already the deaths of many, including the girls in The Harvest Games. Edmond told them they were free to leave and didn't stop them as they left the palace. What he didn't tell them was that they weren't free at all, and that after a short while he'll let his "friends and allies" loose, to hunt them all down and feed from them!!
He's telling everyone that listens, that William is a traitor and that his father was killed by Dominic, who is going to kill Will and then attempt to kill Edmond so he can take the throne!!
Yet the only traitor and usurper is Edmond. He not only committed patricide but it's also classed as regicide, (which is undoubtedly the worst act) and then burned his body to hide the fact he wasn't killed by a bloodworm, but by poison!! He assured himself of Wills downfall after actually putting a bloodworm in him. So what to do with Dominic so as to ensure people buy, what Edmond is selling.
There is constant action and betrayals rife in this second book. Betrayals that you won't see coming and a few that will not surprise you at all!!
There's lots of blood and gore, but also plenty of love to go around, all supposing you can get the men to sit back and think!! It's something they can't miss, except as men....of course they don't see it, right up to the point of maybe losing them.
Sienna's bonds with her friends continue to strengthen as does her powers. The only thing is, no one knows who or what she is!! Along with these friendships however, comes the possibility of loss.
But if you want to know the actual story, you'll need to buy the book.
However don't stop there, as seriously you need the audio too. It will help to bring all the characters in this book to life. It helps to form the personalities of each one too. Especially with these two narrators again!!
Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne are yet again great......
However, Summers' "Scottish accent," is not a good one. In fact half the time when it's supposed to be a Scottish accent , it's almost like a cross between two others. But if you can pretend it's not supposed to be Scottish, I found i could cope with it, and you probably will be able to also.
It's still worth buying the audio for this, as the rest is pretty great 👍👍
So on the whole i recommend the book 100% and audio 85%, which is still pretty darn good!!

Loved this
I initially read this as soon as it came out & now finding myself with the need for a slightly more accessible medium, I decided to give it a listen. I’m so glad I did! The delivery really added to this one & apart from a handful of slightly eyebrow raising pronunciations, had me listening with as much gusto as if it were the first time through.

Thrilling story.
Ohh, things are getting interesting now! Things are not quite what they seem like and Sienna is falling hard for the General. These facts lead to a compelling and intriguing story that I couldn't switch off.
Can't wait to see how things go with the next book, such a tangled web!
