Summary

Half-Fae, half-human Bryce Quinlan loves her life. Every night is a party and Bryce is going to savour all the pleasures Lunathion - also known as Crescent City - has to offer. But then a brutal murder shakes the very foundations of the city, and brings Bryce's world crashing down.

Two years later, Bryce still haunts the city's most notorious nightclubs - but seeking only oblivion now. Then the murderer attacks again. And when an infamous Fallen angel, Hunt Athalar, is assigned to watch her every footstep, Bryce knows she can't forget any longer.

As Bryce and Hunt fight to unravel the mystery, and their own dark pasts, the threads they tug ripple through the underbelly of the city, across warring continents and down to the deepest levels of Hel, where things that have been sleeping for millennia are beginning to stir....

With unforgettable characters and suspense, this richly inventive new fantasy series by No.1 New York Times best-selling author Sarah J. Maas delves into the heartache of loss, the price of freedom - and the power of love.

2/3

2/3 into the book it just got more a more eventful, you literally couldn’t stop reading without being left wondering what was gonna happen next. If your eyes do not water even a little bit then you might be heartless.

Wow

I loved it. It was a long story (over 26 hours), but it kept me hooked throughout. I was laughing, crying & cringing at different times. My only negative comment is the amount of swearing, but that's only because I don't listen with headphones & my 9 year old was a little shocked when she over heard. I'm very much looking forward to what these characters do next, or should that be what they have thrown at them next....

Audio book made the story even better

I wanted to listen to the story before reading the new book, and as it’s a tombe of a book this was an easier option.

It’s a great story with twists you don’t expect and that scene in the library actually made me cry.

I absolutely loved the narrator’s characters. Was gutted when it came to the end.

Not very original

I found that the story is a complete combination of TOG and COTAR, with characters just been given different names and set in a different era. Not to say i didn't enjoy it, but it's in no way as enjoyable as the other 2 series.

Just as good the second time around

Audiobook just as good as reading the book for the first time.
The audio performance was fantastic and the story itself is epic.
