Summary

When Lansius awakens in a medieval world as a lowly peasant, his only goal is survival, but he soon finds glory—and love—in this historical portal fantasy.

When MMO gamer Lansius wakes up in a medieval realm, the good people of his village kindly ensure the now-peasant has food to eat and a roof over his head. Furthermore, he is able to escape the farming life and land a job teaching children.

The thousand-year-old Imperium era is drawing to a close, and the threat of war and violence hangs over the land. With no magic or wealth, Lansius has to face this new reality on his own. Well, mostly. The squire Stefi is at his side as he leaves his new home to march with young Lord Arte against the invaders.

When Lansius is separated from Stefi and their liege, he faces his greatest challenge yet: taking command of a ragtag group of misfits as they battle to save their people. And as he reluctantly climbs the ranks of power, others flock to his banner seeking glory or safety.

But will this be the adventure of a lifetime for Lansius . . . or is it a deadly mistake?

The first volume of the hit fantasy-adventure series—with more than two million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Loved it but

I honestly love story and I get that dialogue is stunted due to language barrier the mc faces but at times it felt like an A.I wrote some parts other then that I look forward to continuing this story when the next book/audiobook comes out.

Excellent!

Fantastic progression fantasy.

I liked the struggle, the detailed world and great characters. Slow build towards power from being a simple peasant, in a realistic way. I like the low magic medieval world.

A bit slow in the beginning, but later on there is excellent battle scenes, strategy, cunning, realistic high-stakes moments. Slice of life added in a little, which I enjoyed.

The performance was a bit dull sometimes, especially during descriptive scenes where no one was talking, felt like it was made by an AI but during characters speaking there was at least a little change in voices depending on characters which I appreciated.

Sometimes the time skips and jumps are kinda strange but otherwise this is one of the few books that really kept me interested fully. Will buy the next one, for sure.
