Summary
A quirky lesbian romance about love never being quite where you expect.
Anna's life's in a bit of a rut. As a teacher with two great kids and a boyfriend, she seems to have it all. Except...she's bored as hell. Perhaps a new hobby's in order? Something...crafty?
Divorced mother and veteran Ollie has been through the wars, emotionally and physically. To relax, she runs a quirky crochet class in her London craft shop. She can't help but notice the attractive, feisty new student. A shame Anna's straight as an arrow.

Sweet, slow mature romance
Lovely characters, hesitant, occasionally awkward, likeable and realistic. Anyone a bit older will relate. Lovely story and beautifully told - just the right voice.

Quirky but real
I liked this story with quirky characters and shop. The personalities were fun and real even when they weren't particularly nice. I wish there was a place like that round where I live, I'd join in a minute.

Listening to this is not pleasant...
Tbh I have nearly stopped listening because of the narrator. Not only does she break up the flow of sentences but sounds like she is giving a lesson in UK English elocution too - over pronouncing most words. She conveys little feeling from the text and I found her quite unpleasant to listen to.
The story is a bit on the quaint side while trying, I think, to be realistic - which it falls at. I don't take to most of the characters and it all seems a bit dull. So, adding in the poor narration, I don't know if I will finish it although I would like to know what happens to Ollie so...?

Nice one
Hooked on You is a really lovely novel.
It's not the most exciting book, but that doesn't mean that it is boring in any way, I still read through it fairly quick. The characters work through some very existential things, so the pace fits the story.
It is gentle and nice and very british. The book delivers on exactly what the blurb promises - and I appreciate that.

Dull, dull and more tedium
The narrator did her best with what seemed like a never ending stream of daily minutiae. The book was more a list than a story and was badly in need of a point.
