Summary
Another difficult case for DCI John Gammon. The sleepy villages of the Peak District are the backdrop to a game being played by a serial killer. Hangman a game we all played as a child is now being used in a sinister way. Bixton police are up against time. The killers has one ultimate victim but many people could die if Gammon and his team can't guess the name of the ultimate victim.
Possibly one of DCI Gammon's most difficult cases and there have been many, with this book being Series five, Book one.

Interesting story and listen
I enjoyed this and it was a good story and well narrated. Potentially would have helped if I had listened to the other books in the series so I would have got more of the back story.

Very Good But....
This was a very good story and interesting throughout, Characters were well developed and you almost feel you know them. I felt the subject was most interesting and I found myself trying to work out the name of the final victim as letters were supplied. Kacey Sophia's narration was superb and brought the book to life. There were a couple of things however that spoilt the book for me, maybe it was the proof reading that failed but on more than one occasion there were things that did not make sense, for example, they team were approaching a building and expecting to find one of their colleagues in there "either dead or alive, the latter being too horrific to imagine" surely this is the wrong way round. Another thing I found irritating was the constant saying of the time things were happening with am or pm following it, for example the following morning at 8:10am, if it was morning it was obviously Am, occasionally this would not have been too bad but as I say it was far too often and became irritating. Sorry for the moan but I would still listen to more of this series as it was a gripping listen.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator for an honest review.
