About this listen
A North Korean ICBM crashes into the Sea of Japan. A veteran CIA officer is murdered in Ho Chi Minh City, and a package of forged documents goes missing. The pieces are there, but assembling the puzzle will cost Jack Ryan, Jr., and his fellow Campus agents precious time. Time they don't have.
The challenge facing President Jack Ryan is an old one with a terrifying new twist. The international stalemate with North Korea continues into its seventh decade. A young, untested dictator is determined to prove his strength by breaking the deadlock. Like his father before him, he hangs his plans on the country's nuclear ambitions. Until now, that program was impeded by a lack of resources. However, there has been a dramatic change in the nation's economic fortune. A rich deposit of valuable minerals have been found in the Hermit Kingdom. Coupled with their nuclear capabilities, the money from this find will make North Korea a dangerous force on the world stage.
There's just one more step needed to complete this perfect plan... the elimination of the president of the United States.

Great Read
Very, very enjoyable book. Such a relevant story line with the current state of relations with North Korea.
Great shame there isn't a Jack Ryan President of the USA instead of Mr Trump! !!!!!!

Outstanding as always audio book holds attention
book is,as usual almost up to Tom Clancy writing. Outstanding listen to burn up the miles in my tractor-trailer trailer. I will cry on to all the Ops Center books now.

Nearly forgot it wasn't Clancy
Mark Greaney has now got it right, he really has the spirit of the Ryanverse, shown by Jack Ryan's motorcade actually getting hit. With all our old friends in play it felt like the old days. Not sure on the performance of the narrator but I must say I have listened to worse, especially Command & Control. That cost it a bit on my ratings.

Enjoyed the book
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The narrator has a good voice; however, he has what i can only describe as a 'wistful' tone. Just a bit more staccato and 'military' sounding would be an improvement. Not terribly bothersome, but could be improved.
What three words best describe Scott Brick’s voice?
Deep, smooth, wistful

My Way
You'll be gripped from the first chapter. How can such a small country exert such influence but remain molitarily impotent. Thank goodness. ...
