Summary

Dear diary,

Once upon a time...there was a girl with long, golden hair who had the truest, bluest eyes that turned white when she cried.

She lived in a kingdom far, far away in a tower made of stone, but her mind was made of glass that she kept sharp as knives.

Where her memories hid behind her darkest doubts. Her deepest thoughts. Her diary became the only thing she could rely on.

No one saw through her looking glass. No one cared. No one tried.

Until the villain presented himself as the hero in her life. He took and took and took some more.

With no regret. With no shame. With no apology.

The page never turned. Their story didn’t end. Tomorrow never came. His life of debauchery was their journey to nowhere.

She’d give anything to go back in time. To walk where she had walked. To see what she had seen. One step. One breath. One day at a time. Though in the end, “I love you” were just words.

That destroyed us inside.

What a wild ride

this is currently my book of the year I enjoyed Chase journey from high School to world famous rock star. they were hearts wrenching times funny times and just very hot and steamy times. the part weather narrator was singing the songs I found a bit weird I I would have rather not have had that in it I think.

slow start, strong finish, excellent narrators

It took me quite a while to get into this, I wasn't sure what I thought of Cash McGraw and some of the decisions he made. His passion was clearly his music, but the way he left home was emotionally hard for everyone. The other issue was perhaps that Journey was a child for a lot of the book. I know we got a lot of background details, but actually as the book progressed, things made more and more sense.

I enjoyed the latter part, once Journey was an adult and we learnt some hard Truths about Cash and why he did what he did. But more to the point how it broke him.

The narrators in the audio book were excellent, not 100% sure on the singing though lol! How it ended intrigued me enough to continue, I think.

Sadness and hope

Expect tears and hope, it’s a fabulous book and very raw. Family pain and talent.

Well that side swiped me

NGL, I started this for Troy Duran and if you’re here for that he’s not featured heavily. Slow to start but my gods by the end you are fully invested in Cash. A few twists and turns along the way. The main performers were great, and I loved that dialogue was done by the appropriate actor. Will definitely be moving to book 2

Slow but good

The story took forever to take off and only got interesting in the last few chapters. It was a good story but not 100% for me. I picked this book up because it was narrated by Troy Duran but his voice is hardly there, so, not totally worth it just for his voice. Everyone else performances were really good just not Troy.
