Summary

Rest when you’re dead?

It’s time for the annual Halloween festival in Sinful, and Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie can’t wait to suit up and enjoy the food and activities. But when a dead man gallops through the park on a black stallion and slides to a decapitated stop right in front of Swamp Team 3, they know another festival is about to be turned on its head...so to speak.

Gil Forrest never won any popularity contests, and his dramatic and somewhat horrifying ride isn’t going to improve his statistics. But since his body was supposed to be tucked away in a funeral home, no one could explain how it ended up on a horse in the middle of the festival. Everything about the setup is strange, and Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie suspect there is more to the Headless Horseman ride than just a tasteless prank. And they plan to find out what it is.

Frightfully good

This author continues to entertain, delight and surprise her fans. At book 20 you know Fortune is going to solve the impossible Gertie is going to blow something up, Ida Belle we have the need for speed, Cater will have to turn a blind eye to all the mischief and Celia will cause a fuss and try to get everybody arrested but it is the journey that the author takes us on to get there which is the reason I keep returning to the series and I just love it. It never fails to Have me laughing or at least chuckling. I had guessed the killer and the reason but that wasn't the end of the story and I was still surprised. On to the next Gertie explosion.
Sinful loves there Halloween celebrations but after last year when a dead man was discovered in the maze, Fortune, Ida Belle and Gertie have been excused from helping and are just there to participate in the fun. Instead they stumble across another dead man but strangely he died days ago in New Orleans. How does a dead man ride a horse down main street and then lose his head when the horse stops? The man wasn't well liked, even his own son wasn't talking to him but that won't stop swamp team three getting to the bottom of this very strange mystery. Especially as he died in New Orleans which means it's not Carter's case and they don't need to worry about annoying him, well only a little.
I like the narrator, she continues to impress and entertain.

One of the most convoluted of the series!

This was a great tale! Basically because it made NO SENSE whatsoever! The red herrings were all over the place, until Fortune put together the random pieces of stuff. The trouble is, this is Sinful - Everything is Random! Hahahahaha!

Gertie. That’s all I’m saying! Gertie! She’s a hoot!

Frightfully Fortune

Another headless person at Halloween 🎃, Fortune and the ladies have another mystery to solve. With fun and mishaps alone the way, many laugh out loud moments in this story. Read brilliantly again by Cassandra Campbell.

Another amazing book

I love Fortune , Ida Belle and Gertie and their escapades . This book does not disappoint and Gertie’s star performance as the senile older Sister had me rolling laughing .
