Brilliant

What a story from the beginning to the end - and what an end! I feel sure that Jessica Redland will write a sequel to this story - I do hope so and I will be looking for it immediately!

A charming tale from Hedgehog Hollow.

Another charming tale from Hedgehog Hollow.
This is book three in the series.
Samantha finds herself with a house full of guests. Some invited and some who have just arrived on the doorstep, expecting to stay.
This book is largely Chloe’s story. Samantha’s cousin Chloe, has been portrayed as a spoilt, selfish madam through the previous two books. Despite once being close, she has treated Samantha appallingly. However when chloe’s life is on the brink of imploding, Samantha is the first person Chloe turns to.
With kindness and a bit of tough love from Samantha and the rest of her family, Chloe begins to reveal the secrets from her past, that have groomed her into the person she is today.
Alongside Chloe’s story, we follow Samantha, as she continues to support everyone around her, while still running an ever growing hedgehog hospital. Samantha soon realises that she has her own demons from the past to comfront and overcome.

This is another enthralling tale from Hedgehog Hollow. There is a lot going on, but good descriptions mean it’s easy to keep up.
There are some very likeable characters and a real sense of family. Plus lots of very cute hedgehogs! 🦔
Jessica Redland writes with warmth and depth. She creates Vivid pictures that give the reader a real sense of the book’s setting.
This part of the story is tied up nicely by the end of the book. At the very end though, we are given a little sneak peak at where the next book will start. I know a cliff hanger isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I don’t mind it at all. Maybe if you don’t like a cliff hanger, give the epilogue a miss.

Another fabulous read from Jessica Redland. I’m looking forward to book 4, and would thoroughly recommend the Hedgehog Hollow series.

Lovely Story

Part 3 is just as good as the first two parts of the Hedgehog Hollow Series.
Great character continuity.
female matters such as breastfeeding feature quite dominantly in the first 65% ish of the book.

*Complexities of Family Life*

*4.5 Stars*

This book kicks off with a recap of the previous book “New Arrivals at Hedgehog Hollow” then the story continues

Sam and Josh already have their hands full with Josh’s Dad and partner who happens to be Josh’s ex and their 2 children staying after both of them are battling serious health issues.

Suddenly Chloe, Sam’s cousin turns up with her young baby boy saying she has left her husband James who happens to be Sam’s ex and she refuses to say why or talk to James.

This story had me shouting at Chloe and wondered why Sam put up with her. She is very selfish and self absorbed, Sam the complete opposite. The best thing was seeing Sam finally standing up to her.

We start to see what makes Chloe the way she is as the story flip flops from past to present. One other person and the keeper of Chloe’s secret is Sam’s mother who she has a toxic relationship with and has only ever shown contempt for Sam. But she is the complete opposite to Chloe this always breaks Sam’s heart and she has never even hugged Sam.

When her mum grudgingly agrees to support Chloe by going to the farm for the big reveal, Sam is in shock. What she reveals is heartbreaking.

Then when Chloe’s mum who is Sam’s mother’s identical twin turns up at the farm everything kicks off. Chloe realises the hardest part will be telling her husband.

The revelations and shocks keep coming, when things seem like they are starting to calm down there is a shocking cliffhanger

Totally absorbing, I could hardly put it down.

difficult to get into

I struggled with the first half of the book as I just found myself getting annoyed with chloe and frustrated with Samantha's ability to be so tolerant with her, but the second half I enjoyed and found quite emotional. I'm looking forward to starting the next one after how the book ended.

Didn't see that coming !!!

I'm really enjoying learning so much about hedgehogs. I'm also seeing so many references to hedgehogs as I go about my day 🤣
Excellent narration by Lucy and Emma. The twists and turns in this book made it almost impossible to stop listening. The revelations and transformation of some of the characters left me gobsmacked. After that cliffhanger book 4 will be started very soon. Thanks Jessica
