Summary
Book 1: Albion Lost:
For centuries, the Daegon waited. They plotted. And now they are ready to strike.
The core worlds of settled space enjoy a tenuous peace, unaware and ill prepared for the threat building beyond the furthest reaches of humanity. The star kingdom of Albion stands as a shining light of justice and mercy in a harsh galaxy, and they will be the first to suffer the Daegon's fury.
Defying his low born status, and despite his self-doubt, Commodore Thomas Gage has risen through the ranks by sheer grit and determination, defending Albion from brutal pirate clans. And when the onslaught comes, Gage and his fleet may be Albion's last hope for freedom.
Book 2: The Long March:
Albion burns beneath Daegon rule.
Commodore Thomas Gage and his fleet, safeguarding the last of the Albion Royal Family, are on the run. Hunting them, a ruthless Daegon commander will stop at nothing to crush Albion's only remaining free force.
To find sanctuary beyond their enemy's reach, the battle-damaged fleet must cut through a hostile and dangerous region of space known as the Kigeli Nebula. But to secure passage, Gage must strike a deal with an old enemy who wants nothing more than to fulfill a vendetta and see the commodore dead.
Facing threats ahead, behind and from within, Gage must lead his fleet down the long march to freedom.
Exiled Fleet is a new military science-fiction series for fans of Honor Harrington, Earth Alone, and Old Man's War from the author of the best-selling Ember War Saga.

The bright light of Albion
This has to be one of the best sci-fir books I've read in years.
The charters are great the space combat scenes are are just amazing you fell as though you are there.
The badies are very good and full of surprises I can not wait to see were this adventure will take me.

This book is an excellent use of your credit.
Once you get to grips with the character's accents, you'll find yourself well entertained. once the story gets rolling, you'll find yourself hooked, and you'll realise you have a page-turner on your hands/in your ears. Suddenly, your two-hour daily commute has become something you look forward to. This is a story that becomes notably stronger by leaps and bounds in the telling.
Also, this is a very large story with a lot going on for a lot of people in a lot of places at the same time. The performer's accents quickly become helpful in staying current. There could be more character development (especially for the bad guys), but that would detract from the sheer scale of the happenings in the rest of the story.
That, and there is something for everyone - space navies, space pirates, aliens with built-in uncanny valley-ness, conspiracies, Kings, Queens, noble houses, powered armour, betrayal, murder, sabotage, redemption, explosions, AI, grief, loss, sacrifice, drug abuse, assassins, knights...
...I could go on (and on), but I'll spare you the spoilers. Put simply, you will be very well entertained.
That said, Lausanne deserves his own book. He is absolutely awful, and that is a superb quality in a Pirate.
I was upset to reach the end of book one. I was very upset to reach the end of book two. There is obviously a book three waiting to happen, and I would strongly encourage the author to be about it.
Oh wait, he already has. There are several more books to be had in this series. Jolly good. That's tomorrow's commute sorted then.

a bit hectic at the start
jumps around a lot at the start, when it settles down and you can figure out who the main characters are then it's enjoyable

Loved It
Really good start to this series; so much so, I found it hard to put down at times. Quite a lot of action thrown in for good measure made things interesting.
Now I’ve finished the book, I can’t wait for the next chapter.
Narration, as always by this narrator, was brilliant.

Excellent Military Space Opera
This pair of books were really good examples of the new crop of books appearing at the moment in the genre of Space Warfare. The battles are big, the characters are believable, the story interesting and Mark Boyett’s narration was spot on. Can’t wait to hear more!

Well paced and fun novels
It’s not an entirely original premise but I find it perfect for Audible- just easy to listen to and follow.
I’m in past the freebie’s now and spending a few quid so I guess that’s a review in itself. I think the action is well written and the comedy elements work well without being too obvious or intrusive.
I’m still constantly disappointed that SF authors aren’t grasping the idea of diversity as almost all the seniors seem to be men!! Apart from this irritating own goal I’m enjoying the series.
