About this listen

Gina was forced into marriage with Camden, the Duke of Girton, at an age when she'd have been better off in a schoolroom than a ballroom. Directly after the ceremony, her spouse promptly fled to the continent, leaving the marriage unconsummated and Gina quite indignant.

Now she is one of the most well-known ladies in London and living on the edge of scandal....

Fun but flawed.

I enjoyed this book immensely because I enjoy Eloisa's style but I imagine it must have been one of her early works as it has several anachronisms in it that jar a little. However her characters and dialogue are always enjoyable and Justine Eyre's delivery is spot on. Definitely worth a listen.

Enjoyable but a bit confused at points

I enjoyed the story but as others have said it did go on a bit too much. The ending could have quite easily been cut down by two scenes having the ship as the last and an epilogue in Greece perhaps!
I also found the inclusion of the other characters stories a bit much, and not enough. They were not tied up satisfactorily at the end.

One note on the otherwise excellent narration, Beatrice is not Be a tree shay. But simply bee a triss. This grated!

Enjoyable audible book full of fun and frolics

A good story but sadly not very historically accurate. Too many anachronisms for my liking like a darts board in a pub 100 years before the game was invented.

Engaging Story

All the ingredients needed for a good story. Kept me engaged throughout. Excellent Narration by Justine, as usual.

Tedious and far too long

Far too long and far too much angst.

There were too many characters that I wasn't interested in hearing about. It would nice to be introduced to them, if they are part of the series, but not their life stories!

The heroine's "fiancee" was too far fetched with his priggishness and he would never end up doing what he was supposed to have done.

Justine did the best she could with the narration but sorry, what a load of nonsense and I won't be reading anymore by this author.
