Summary

It’s rumoured that Dickens wanted to return to his classic novel Oliver Twist, to bring him back into a later book as an older character, but he never managed this before he died. However, if Oliver had returned, what would he have been like? Would the scars of his childhood affect the man he would become? And what of ‘Dodger’, sent to a land halfway around the world, his friend, mentor and master dead because of Oliver?

Dodge & Twist is that story. The tale of two boys, 12 years later, returning into each other’s lives - for both good and bad.

Featuring: Matt Addis, Ben Addis, Tom Michael Blyth, Will Brown, Trevor Cooper, Alexandra Donnachie, Lauren Drummond, Nigel Fairs, David Gooderson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Harry Hepple, Will Howard, James Joyce, Anthony Keetch, Mack Keith-Roach, Matt Lucas, Nick Lucas, Stephen Mangan, William McGeough, David Menkin, Harry Myers,Matty Norgren, Greg Patmore, Miles Richardson, Richard Rycroft, Andy Secombe, Michael Socha, Sheila Steafel, Kara Tointon, Lizzie Waterworth-Santo and Sarah Whitehouse.

Really Entertaining

Loved this book, all the old characters from the original story. It was gripping and clever. I think even Charles Dickens himself would have enjoyed it. Great actors so worth a listen, totally recommend.

New adventures for some old friends

Had the feel of Dickens in plot, the characters voices were spot on. The whole production was pleasantly immersive. Top quality production from Audible Studios can't wait for the next story.

Convincing follow up to Dickens' original story

I passed this up the first time I looked at it but decided to give it a go later and very glad I did. Good story and great dramatisation, evocative of Dickens. Enjoyed it immensely.

Great entertainment for Dickens fans

An interesting and clever plot that brings Oliver Twist & the Artful Dodger back together again. The story brings back other characters from Oliver and refers to others from other Dickens novels. The cast do an excellent job of taking you back into the underworld of 1800’s London. It hints at a possible sequel, which would be lovely. If you enjoy Dickens or Dickensian stories, you’d enjoy this. It is broken up into chapters which if you’re short on time, you can listen to it in the same way as a serialised radio play without losing any impact of the action or plot. Kept me spellbound until the end!
