About this listen
Would you face down a serial killer to save your brother? Kyra is already undercover in the murder-capital of the country, and she prefers to go it alone. When she stumbles on a plot to kill most of the city’s cops, she has a decision to make.
After shouting her warning at a handsome random detective, she's sure that will be the end of it. Until the same detective shows up at her employer’s estate...where there happens to be a dead body in the pool.
But that's not the only corpse in this city. Prostitutes keep turning up dead, and Kyra suspects everything is connected. If she can’t figure out how, more than one person might disappear into these shadowy alleys, and never be seen again....
If you love, dark, gritty urban reality, complete with clandestine serial killers and brooding detectives, you’ll want to join Kyra and Gabe on this pulse-pounding sprint through Abstreuse City. Because darkness lurks in us all.

First in series
A very good start to a new series. Well drawn characters and a novel that makes you want to listen to the next book. The narrator has done a good job bringing this book to life.

A Superb dark story
A superb dark story with an strong intelligent driven female lead character and a decent police detective. The story is wonderfully atmospheric you can almost smell the rubbish. Vivid descriptions of the streets, alleys and people add a feeling of tension and dread. Narration is perfect with a narrator who givens each voice its own quality. I am looking forward to a sequel as a large part of the story remains unfinished but not a cliff-hanger. Highly Recommended

Good story but unfinished
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook which had a great storyline and was well written. The narrator gave a great performance.
I'm hoping that the next book in the series gets released as an audiobook soon so I can enjoy the continuation of the story which seems unfinished as it stands.
I received a free copy of this audiobook either from the author or a promotion or giveaway and am voluntarily writing an honest and unbiased review.
