Summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

Excellent book, bogged in detail

Well written, if poorly edited. The sorry continues as it ever does, but I'm compelled to listen to/read the next one.

Great series, one of the weaker entries

I love the wheel of time series, it is undoubtedly my favourite epic fantasy saga . Unfortunately the crossroads of twilight is one of its weakest instalments. Very little happens in the grand scheme, but a lot is set up. Although it is far better in audiobook than I expected.

Great as always but could have been shorter

At times I felt this could have been shorter but Wheel of Time fans aren't in it for the short to the point story telling. It seems like there are more and more Aes Sedai names to remember and the descriptions of the machinations and ruminations Aes Sedai are long winded. Still a triumph though in terms of scope, you can't fail to admire the detail. Sometimes I wonder if Robert Jordan was seeing how many times he could use the word 'stout' I like to imagine he had some sort of private wager or challenge to include it at every opportunity, not unusual for a stout woman to be wearing stout grey woolens while riding a stout horse. Narrators are great as usual, what an epic task for them too. They are also in it for the long haul and I admire them for it .

Mediocre

Mediocre story with bad pacing and a lot of side characters boring stories. The weakest book of the series.

I nearly gave up!

This is the first WOT book I find boring from the start and can't get into it. Yesterday I was trying to listen and again, more random new characters and new names to try to remember or decide if they actually are worth remembering or just created to add more pages to the book!! I am close to giving up, reading a summary and skipping to the next book. But I will not give up on the WOT series, I am determined to finish it!

No real ending

Mid way through the recording totally changes and is poor. The story is probably one of the least interesting and very drawn out.
