About this listen

For decades, Sandra Brown’s life has been intertwined with someone she has never met: an eleven year-old girl named Moira Anderson – who disappeared from their hometown of Coatbridge, Scotland, in 1957. It became one of the oldest cold cases in Scottish history.

Sandra lived just around the corner from Moira. She grew up hearing about the missing girl, whose memory haunted the town. But she never imagined that, one day, she would be the one trying to uncover what happened. Or that her search for answers would reveal secrets and lies so close to home.

In her own words, Sandra tells the full story, of a lifetime spent confronting doubt and resistance. Can she break the silence and find the truth? And how much pain will it cause?

Content Warning: There are references to child sexual abuse and to violence in this series. Listener discretion is advised.

That these cases are deeper than people can ever believe!

It was by no coincidence that Moria’s murder wasn’t convicted until after he was dead! His whole persona is reflective of someone connected to a high profile ring , what he knew about the VIP’s abusing and murdering children is exactly what kept him safe ! Sandra asking your father on his deathbed to disclose before he met his maker would have been a complete joke to him , he was never afraid of God and never was but that would take us all to a new level - believing the unbelievable !

Five stars!

Unlike most criminal narratives, there was an almost gentle pace to this. Yet it kept me spellbound, right to the very end. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Excellently told

This story of Moira Anderson is so sad. The father of the alleged suspect knew his son.

How one woman's tenacity uncovered a decades old abduction and murder.

Absolutely gripping and it all actually happened and by her own father. Loyalty to family sometimes has to take second place.

What a remarkable woman

We had to listen from beginning to end in one sitting as this podcast is compulsive. A remarkable woman diligently pursuing threads of rumour, casually dropped phrases and family ghosts. Beautifully produced and a superb listen. An OBE well deserved!
