Summary

The sprawling Kerry Manor has stood abandoned for nearly a century.

But that hasn’t kept the darkness at bay. Stories about the cursed house trickle out. Violent deaths, strange sightings, and always the chilling sound of a little girl’s song permeates the murky halls.

Today, Kerry Manor is restored to its original grandeur. Corrie and Sammy Flynn, and their daughter Isis, move into the house for a winter retreat. As they settle into the dim, gothic rooms, they cannot imagine the terror that awaits them.

Kerry Manor houses a malevolence that spans a century. A twisted tale that began when a little girl went into the Northern Michigan Asylum for the Insane and emerged as something dark - something evil.

Kerry Manor is the second novel in a series of stand-alone stories in the Northern Michigan Asylum Series. Start your chilling journey today.

A great psychological thriller!

Calling Back the Dead is the perfect fall listen. This stand alone, second book of the Northern Michigan Asylum series captured my attention with this psychological thriller. Meet Corrie and Sammy. They have rented the well-known cursed house, Kerry Manor. Sammy loves horror, authoring a scary comic. Little did he know, this house would be his demise. And what happens next is frightening! From haunting creepy nursery rhymes to having that feeling of being watched, the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. And just when you think you have the answers, another twist will lead you in another direction. It has all the elements of a great horror story! I was hooked and will go back and find the first book in the series now.

Kelsey Navarro is an amazing narrator. She adapts to this genre with such ease, building the suspense and creating the personalities of all the characters perfectly. I love her creepy little girl nursery rhyme voice, the kind that you will hear in the middle of the night! She creates the atmosphere with her voice and kept me riveted.

Calling Back the Dead

Corrie and Sammy love Halloween, scary and spooky things. When given the chance to move into the restored Kerry Manor for the winter they jump at the chance. Only this is the biggest mistake of all time. They have all their friends over for the Coolest Halloween party only when the sun comes up their lives will be changed forever. The story is intense and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Great listen and the narration was easy to listen to and really brought the story to life. Thanks Audiobook Obsession for the recommendation.

A beautifully written haunting standalone

I love the fact that this book is part of a series but every book can be read as an individual standalone. The story initially started off a little slow but I'm glad I stayed with it . The book was set in a great location and the narrator spoke so clearly and was easy to understand . Reading this one has made me want to read the book I missed and the ones that follow. I was given this book by the author/narrator in return for an honest and unbiased review

Great book.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Although this is book 2 of the Northern Michigan Asylum series I was happy it can be listened to as a stand alone.
A great supernatural murder mystery that gets very creepy in places.
Kelsey Navarro does a fab job narrating as usual and look forward to listening to more of her work.

A haunting with substance

This was a great listen, well written and narrated.
The storyline was very clever. It wasn’t a scary horror, more an intriguing supernatural to me and I enjoyed it very much
It was easy to listen to with good substance other than just trying to be spooky and I will be listening to the rest in the series!
Definitely worth a listen!
