About this listen
First love never works out.
Right?
In school, Nico and King are best friends, and each other’s first love. But their lives take a different path and they lose touch.
Now, ten years later, King is a famous musician and Nico is trying to make a name for himself as a journalist. When King’s life starts falling apart, fate brings them together on a private island, and reignites old feelings.
Can they make it work this time?
Or are their worlds too far apart?
Butterfly Wishes is a stand-alone novella featuring friends to lovers, sweet moments on a private island, a tortured musician and a soft journalist, and a very cute dog.

as good as the ebook
The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Absolutely Beautiful 💕
Beautifully written second chance romance.
I absolutely loved this!
Nico and King, best friends and lovers in school, part ways to further their dreams.
Nick is completely heartbroken but,is King?
Ten years later and Nico is given the chance to interview King, for the magazine he is working for.
king, who disappeared, from the public eye,a year earlier.
Why was Nico chosen to do this interview and not a more seasoned journalist?
Upon meeting,feelings are reignited.
Can they be reconciled?
Will it tear Nico apart when he leaves again? When King goes back to being the rock star and leaves Nico behind?
I highly recommend you immerse yourself in this Audiobook to find out if the love they once had can be reborn.
Michael Fox has done a brilliant job of bringing these characters to life. I could have happily Carried on listening to this Audiobook long after the story had finished.💕

A little gem
Teodora Kostova is a must read author for me, yet somehow I have missed this little gem. With hardly any angst, this story concentrates on a second chance at love for musician, King, and journalist, Nico. Their feelings have never really died, so love is resurrected with a sweetness that gives all the feels with none of the tooth decay. I love how the title is woven through the novella rather than being an afterthought.
Michael Fox made a sterling effort with the narration. He captures the characters of King and Nico brilliantly, from Nico's initial fears and uncertainty to King's gentle adamance that they will be together. Definitely someone to look out for in the future.

Magic!
Story: A magical tale of love and second chances!
I was invested in the story from page one and could not believe, how I cheered the characters on! Teodora Kostova did a brilliant job in capturing a host of different emotions so they are almost palpable!
It’s not an easy task to make a shorter story like this one work and feel wholesome, but there is nothing missing! It all makes sense, follows a great progression of plot and focuses on all the important bits!
Loved it!!!!
Narration: I really liked the voice. The narration was easy to follow and really fit the story.

True love never dies
This shortish love story shows off Teodora Kostova's strength as a writer, what could so easily have been fluff-without-substance turns into an engaging story about how true love never dies. Don't get me wrong, this is still fluffy, but we also get a side of real feelings and a little bit of angst.
I love how we get to see King's world weariness and how in all that his love for Nico is still as strong. No matter what, King's feelings don't waver. Nico and King made me root for them and feel their genuine connection.
Michael Fox's narration was easy to listen to and he gave all the characters voices that fit them.

Sweet feel good romance
I loved it!! I have a weakness for second chances and I was admittedly a little nervous about how she was going to pull off the balance needed for this in a shorter book but she managed to pull it off fantastically. I loved their back story and they were so sweet together. You could really feel the connection and love.

A pleasant two-person play
Nico and Kingsley were high school boyfriends before their careers sent them in different directions. While Nico plodded along as a journalist, King soared into the musical stratosphere as a household name. When King becomes disillusioned with his life, he offers Nico an exclusive interview in the hopes of rekindling their relationship. I liked this but wasn’t bowled over by it. Like Call Me By Your Name, it’s very much a two-person play, and I liked the focus on Nico’s reluctant journey of trust in Kingsley. While pleasant and sweet, it did feel a little sugary to me - there were no twists or turns and the relationship crisis was swiftly resolved. I think more time spent on the initial relationship, Kingsley’s career disillusionment, and Nico’s struggling career would have anchored the characters with stronger backstories and given the journey of trust more depth. 🎧 Michael Fox gets better with each narration, I thought his relaxed, understated performance really suited the closeness of the two-person play.
