About this listen
With only two weeks before Jax's new bakery is to open, Jaycee and the gang are hard at work finalizing arrangements. Unfortunately, the untimely murder of two Traveler's Bay citizens is putting a damper on the happy occasion.
Even worse is the fact that both Jaycee and Jax are, once again, thrust into the forefront as prime suspects. When Jaycee's boyfriend detective Connors is taken off the case due to a conflict of interest, Gramps gives Jaycee the go-ahead to work her magic and solve the case.
Amid the chaos of serving up drinks and gossip at Gone with the Whiskey, cop car chases, motorcycle jumping, gang initiation rituals, and joyriding in a Miata-smashing truck, Jaycee and the gang must, once again, traverse their way into clearing the Sullivan name.

The heat is on
I really enjoyed this book. This is the second book in what is turning out to be a fun series. If you like a good mystery, grannies with attitude, humour and a loveable dog then this book is for you. I really like the characters who are unique and very entertaining, I love the way they are one big happy family, even the police detective knows she is going to ignore him and investigate but unlike most cozy mystery boyfriends he just accepts it, a refreshing change. The author is obviously a film buff and I really liked the use of this knowledge. The mystery itself is interesting and I hadn't really guessed the right killer. I can't wait for the next book.
Jax is taking time out from planning her big bakery's opening day by entering into a cooking competition at the local festival. But not everybody is happy with her entering and when the winners is announced there is a scuffle. Hours later Jax becomes a suspect in the other contestants death, when she is found dead with a cupcake and a bottle. With Detective Connors dating Jaycee he is taken off the case and put on the trail of the group of graffiti artists that is painting the town but that doesn't mean the two Sullivan sisters can't investigate. The first thing they have to work out is who had access to the poison but when another body is found they find themselves asking a whole lot more questions. Like are the murders connected? Or is one murder just to cover up the real motive? The detective is slowly working his way through there friends accusing them all can the sisters find the killer before he arrests the wrong person.
I liked the narrator. She does a good job of giving each character there own voice and no two characters sounded the same.
