About this listen
Ezekyle Abaddon and his warlords strive to bind the newborn Black Legion together under threat of destruction. Now Khayon, as Abaddon's most-trusted assassin, is tasked with ending the threat of Thagus Daravek, the self-proclaimed Lord of Hosts - a rival to the Ezekyle's final fate.
Fighting the vile whispers of the Dark Gods within his mind, Abaddon turns a fevered gaze back to the Imperium, where his destiny awaits. Yet the Emperor's Champion and his Black Templars stand guard at the gates of Hell, and Sigismund has waited centuries to face Abaddon in battle.

Hooked from start to finish!
I'd only just finished the first book when I dived in to this one. The wonderfully gory imagery in this book comes alive through Jonathon Keeble's fantastic reading!

excellent
I like Aaron Dembski-Bowden, he's written some excellent warhammer books from Horus Heresy, kike 'The First Heretic' and 'Betrayer', I was never reallt that interested in the black legion itself, not looking so high up at Horus like everyone else, Abaddon also just seemed like me angry! Not to the same level as Angron but you get it. After listening to this the Black Legion are very high up for me, excellent book and Jonathan Keeple does great work as usual, highly recommended if you're interested in the chaos factions, whether you like the black legion or not.

Nlt as good as the first.
This one is less interesting than the previous one by far. Khayons sidekicks are now gone, or pushed to the sidelines. They used to have such greate character moments between them... and now thats gone.
Its just bit bland. The main enemy of the book is boring and one note, and so is a lot of the crew.

Fantastic as always.
In an effort to keep things short and sweet , this book is worth your time! It really is one of the best series I've had the pleasure of listening to.
I would advise listening to The Master of Mankind before you start this series as it helps paint a better picture of what's going on in the universe.

The long war begins
I am actually empathising with the Black Legion which gives you some idea of the quality of the writing in this book, it’s really interesting and intriguing to get the perspective of the opposing forces, my only caveat being that the narration was outstanding in the first book Talon but seems a bit patchy this time, for example a character in the first book sounds completely different in this one 🤔 that aside this is a great audiobook and I strongly recommend it
